  1. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Ceasar Miniatures Demag D7 (SdKfz 10), with stowage from Blackdog. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. Caesar Miniatures are best known for their figure sets, but they also released a handful of vehicle kits, like this one (in 2010). I painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics and weathered with artist oils and pastel chalks. Thank you for your interest! Roman
  2. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Trumpeter M26A1 Pershing. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. The model was painted with Mr.Hobby H304 Olive Drab and weathered with artist oils and pastel chalks. The Trumpeter kit is simple and easy to build but lacks the finesse and detail that other manufacturers (like Dragon or Vespid) provide in the box. The kit's track links suffer from nasty ejector marks on the inner side, so I replaced them with resin items from OKB Grigorov. Stowage is from Blackdog, the figure is from Milicast. The decal markings that come with the kit are minimal - just a couple of white stars and two turret numbers (for a Korean War tank). Thank you for your interest!
  3. Dear fellow Britmodellers, this is the 1/72 Orange Hobby SdKfz 7 (early) with figures from Milicast and stowage from Blackdog & CMK. Photos by Wolfgang Rabel. I painted the model with Mr.Hobby acrylics (H32) and weathered with artist oils and pastels. The limiting rods are resin add-ons from JK resin - the kit only provides flat etched pieces which I didn't like. The figurines were brush-painted with Vallejo acyrlics and good old Humbrol enamels. Thank you for your interest!
  4. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's the next Sherman for my collection, the M4A3 built from the 1/72 Dragon kit. Painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics, photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. I added sandbag protection from Blackdog (https://blackdog-model.com/t72008-1-72-m4a3-sandbags-1/) . This finely cast resin upgrade comes in two sideparts plus an entire turret (except the gun), making assembly easy. The figure and stowage are from Milicast, the antenna is from stretched sprue. Thank you for your interest!
  5. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Zvezda M4A2 Sherman in markings of the Red Army in 1944. Painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics, photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. I added stowage from Sandsmodels and BlackDog, steel towing cable from Karaya, photo-etch brushguards for headlights from Dan Taylor Modelworks and antenna from stretched sprue. Thank you for your interest, best greetings from Vienna! Roman
  6. Something I’ve wanted to do for a while, a “civvy” jeep converted to a small town fire truck. Using the Tamiya jeep & Black Dog conversion. CJ2A 2 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 1 by phil da greek, on Flickr The Tamiya kit is superb, almost snap fit no glue needed. The Black Dog set is, well, disappointing. Lots of snapped parts, rough casting & air bubbles where you don’t need them. CJ2A 4 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 11 by phil da greek, on Flickr in the next couple of photos the dark green is Tamiya, the light grey is Black Dog resin & the white is plastic card that should be light grey resin. CJ2A 8 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 9 by phil da greek, on Flickr You get the idea, a fairly straightforward conversion became a bit of a chew, the resin ladder was so rotten that even after filling, sanding, glueing & painting I felt it necessary to hide it. Here’s the finished piece, the ladder rack ended up not square but I was past caring at that point. CJ2A 14 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 17 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 21 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 15 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 20 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 18 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 19 by phil da greek, on Flickr CJ2A 16 by phil da greek, on Flickr There we are, not my best but it’s on the shelf, a project I may revisit one day. Thanks for looking.

  8. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Italeri IS-2 Stalin, with tracks from OKB Grigorov, towing cable from Eureka, figures from CMK and stowage from Blackdog. Decals are from Colibri. Painted with Mr.Hobby acrylics, weathered with graphite pen, artist oils and real mud from the garden, mixed with white glue and pigments. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. The Italeri kit was released in 2006 and has been sleeping in my stash for many years. The recently released Blackdog stowage set inspired me to complete this build. It's designed for the 1/72 Zvezda kit, and not all parts fit the Italeri model, there seem to be some differences. I used OKB Grigorov resin tracks to replicate the characteristic 'sagging'. Thank you for your interest, best greetings from Vienna! Roman
  9. Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my 1/72 Academy M3 Half Track with additional stowage from Blackdog. I painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics and weathered with graphite pencil, artist oils and Tamiya pigments. Photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. The Academy kit of the M3 was released in 2004 and still holds up well today . The Blackdog set (T72016) is great value for money and adds plenty of interesting detail. The vehicle was airbrushed with Gunze H304 Olive Drab, while the stowage items were brush-painted using Vallejo paints. Best greetings from Vienna! Roman
