  1. Was looking for photos and history of this famous EC-121 for a friend who flew Spads in SEA and was asking about her,; I thought some of you might find them of interest. I have seen her at the AFM and like all Connies, she is one big, beautiful airplane! IIRC, somebody did a decal sheet that had '555' on it- maybe Caracal? (Wish I had bought all the upgrade and improvement sets for my Heller kit back when they were still available.) First AWACS aircraft to direct a fighter for an air-to-air kill. 2. While looking for articles and photos on the removal of de-icer boots on B-25's for another post, I found this. It is a very informative and interesting history and description of the Flying Fortress, including some great photos of the early variants. I hope this is new to many of you- I had never seen it before. 3. I found this photo collection while looking for the history of N1837M and I thought some of you might enjoy looking at these photos- hope you have not seen many of them before. If you've never seen one in person, it's a BIG airplane for a twin! Might just cause me to yank my old Williams Bros. kit down from the stash! Mike my mistake! Here's the link I forgot to attach! I was so excited when I found the photos, I forgot to attach the link after I bookmarked the site! http://www.oldprops.ukhome.net/Curtiss C46 Photographs.htm
  4. Seeing a recent story about the second B-52 ('Wiseguy') removed from the 'boneyard' to be restored to active duty, I have attached a link to a website dedicated to all versions of the B-52 that has a very good collection of detail photos for modelers. I had a friend in the 80's who was a B-52 B/N and he related to me that he had flown several times in the same B-52 that his dad flew as a pilot- I bet there will be the grandchild of a B-52 aircrewman/woman who will fly in the same BUFF as their grandpa at some point! The USAF has sure gotten its money's worth out of the B-52! Enjoy! 5. I discovered these recently, but forgot to post them; I hope they haven't been posted before. Mike http://axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?16624
  6. For those who were involved in our earlier discussion on these Liberator conversions, I found this photo collection- there are many I haven't seen before, and I hope you haven't, as well! Mike http://www.axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?356
  7. Wow! Haven't seen many of these before- especially of the merchant ships that carried them and the launch platforms. I bet @Troy Smith has all of these in his library, but I would like to know if the photo of the one with the cover over the radiator inlet had it fitted for protection from sea spray or to warm the engine up quickly for launching? Just curious! Mike http://axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?11405
  8. In case any of you are working on the Valom kit, I have attached a link to a very nice collection of DH91 photos from the Axis and Allies Paintworks site. I would not relish doing those eight exhausts in 1/72 scale! Such a beautiful airplane! Some of these you have probably seen before, but I hope you will find them useful. Mike http://axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?13911
  9. If there are any of you out there like me who are awaiting the release of the 1/72 Special Hobby kit, here are some excellent detail photos of the Albacore, including some cockpit views I have never seen before. Link is via the Axis and Allies Paintworks site. I don't know why, but I have always thought the Albacore was a handsome beast. I hope you find these useful. Anybody heard news as to when the kit might be released? Mike http://axis-and-allies-paintworks.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?13436
