  1. How do chaps, Been putting this one together at the same time as the Italeri Crusader MkII CS. Some sprue shots. Mk I mantlet on the left and Mk II on the right. Very cunning of Tamiya to have both versions in the box. Means you have to buy two of em! Not sure as to why they went with a cast lower hull tho? The axles are cone shaped and make for a very sloppy fit of the road wheels. Poly caps! The build going very well without any problems. The plastic is a bit soft though, so care is required. The air filters are made up from 3 pieces and are nicely done. Turret and sub turret built up. The 2pdr gun is ok for the scale and represents the later style with 'stepped' barrel as opposed to the early 'fluted' type. Just about done. Those cone shaped axles! Didn't want to go with the full skirts, so got myself some Hauler brass guards. Very nice and very soft! Ere mate, fancy a little bit of running gear? On with the tracks. Found that the best way to do these was to fit the sprocket (which was nice and snug due to the poly cap) and start at that end. I added the road wheels and let the track run pull them into line. After about half an hour I had a full run of track. This was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be! Both runs done and dry. Tracks fitted to the model. They do look rather nice when put together. The straight track and sprocket polycaps hold it all nice and level. Some pics of the Tamiya model with the Italeri kit. Tamiya's kit is slightly better detailed in some areas. Oh please do one in 35th scale! The two turrets. Note how diffrent the two mantlets are! All sprayed up with Vallejo grey primer. I had major problems spraying this. Turns out the 'quick fit' connector I had fitted to the brush and hose was restricting the air flow from the compressor. Once I took it off it sprayed tickity boo. More to follow soon. Regards, Steve
