I will join in with this Airfix Vintage Classic kit. I built one many years ago and I recall it was a little complex as there’s a lot of ‘working parts’. Stalemates has it initially tooled in 1962 so it is a reasonable representation of a kit from them. I’ll build it out OOB apart from some glazing, though I may just glue up some of the moving parts. There’s 7 green coloured sprues, although 2 of them are the wheels, which will be a joy to paint. Not bad moulding for plastic that’s 60 years old, although a little soapy in detail. There’s a bit of flash, not much mind you, some mould seams and some mould depressions. Although there will be some work with files, sanding and filler, I’ve seen worse more modern kits and it should brush up good. Although a more modern boxing the instructions are still quite retro. Two colour schemes with relevant transfers. I’ll be going for the desert version.

Hello all, Yet another 1/72 bipe - the venerable Airfix ‘Vintage Classic’ Hawker Demon. Don’t be fooled by the new shiny box, it’s the same kit from 1965 but with more flash! 😆 Nice decals though, although very thin so care required in handling required. Quite a few alterations to the base kit, but basically, there is a nice model hiding in there somewhere. A brief build thread here: I’ve got the ‘Vintage Classic’ Bulldog on pre order so hopefully I can improve my efforts on that when she comes. Anyway, macro photography a bit harsh in 1/72, but here she is finished: Thanks for looking, Guy

Hi Folks, this is my first attempt at an armoured fighting vehicle, my normal subjects are Second World War aircraft or modern jets so please be kind. After a visit to RAF Cosford I had this idea to build a small diorama featuring a World War 1 tank and a British and German aircraft in a dog fight above. Well something I found out during this build is I am not very good at building biplanes and consequently the Sopwith Camel found itself flying straight into the bin of shame, and that's where the Fokker Eindecker will find itself if it doesn't start behaving! Anyway here She is, or should I say He is. Built straight out of the box, I did not paint it in the recommended colour scheme as I just wanted something representative of the type and it is painted entirely with Tamiya Acrylics. I have enjoyed the build and found the weathering process liberating, you have to be a little more restrained with aircraft. I have a feeling this will not be my last armoured fighting vehicle.
