Hello everyone... I present to you my 1/72 Fujimi/Testors F7U-3 Cutlass. This was built for the “In the Navy group build”. It is finished in the Markings of Attack Squadron VA-12 “Ubangi’s” Circa 1955-57. Heres a bit of info on the Ubangi’s.

According to a squadron history I found the Navy deemed the Cutlass not safe so VA-12 made no cruises with them. The only clear photo in these markings is in a more clean state and seen in a stateside airshow. So that is the way I chose to display mine.
I took these photo’s yesterday, someone else has pointed out that the tires have bare spots. They have been fixed now and look more like rubber.
The dual Lightning bolts on the canopy are painted with homemade masks. They are a little bit off in their symmetry but i think it gives the plane character.
Please feel free to ask questions, comment, and or post thoughts. My build link is here.
