  1. Hello, I'm currently finishing a Special Hobby N.A. BT-9 in the KUTA group build, see the links if you are interested: While applying the decals supplied I found myself with three sets of individual numbers '292', two are for the wing leading edge like in this example: I don't know what to do with the third one, nothing can be found in the instructions. Then I studied again a high resolution version of the only image I have of '292' and noticed a shadow over the underwing 'ARMY'. Maybe it shows where the third decals goes? Here are the intructions for reference, hope to not breach any forum rule linking to a commercial site https://www.super-hobby.hu/zdjecia/9/4/2/1152_2_SPH72069_4.jpg Thank you!
  2. Hello, I started 2022 with a strong will to decrease the number of abandoned builds I have in my stash (who does not have them?) and selected this one: Inside not what you would expect, since the box is simply a better way to avoid loosing everything with a damned end-opening box 😁 More details to follow... Thanks for looking!
  3. Hello everybody... This will be my second model in the build, it is Heller’s classic Hawk75/P-36. I have two sets of original decals but doubt I will go French. Here is a color profile of the French option. I was planning on build a USAAC P-36 from Selfridge Field Michigan in 1939. I will be doing it in an experimental camouflage tested during the war games that year. There were multiple aircraft and each had a different pattern applied in water soluble paints. Here is a color guide used that year though on a different aircraft. The only thing I would be missing is the unit badge of the Eagle in the red disk. Please feel free to ask questions, post comments, and or add thoughts. Dennis
  4. Dear All, Just a couple of quick newbie questions about the Yellow Wings Decals sheet number YW72038, which includes an early P-40. Firstly, what is the opinion of Yellow Wings products? Secondly, does anyone know which model of P-40 is on the above sheet? I'm guessing 'B'? Please forgive me if this has already been discussed - I'm not long returned to the aircraft modelling fold after nearly thirty years and, apart from the Airfix TBD-1 forty years ago at the age of 10, have no experience of interwar US aviation! Thanks in advance! Kind regards, Mark
  5. Here's one I finished recently. Nice underrated kit with Xtradecal decals: 20191230_172241 by bryn robinson, on Flickr 20191230_172223 by bryn robinson, on Flickr 20191230_172137 by bryn robinson, on Flickr 20191230_172128 by bryn robinson, on Flickr 20191230_172107 by bryn robinson, on Flickr
  6. I recently came across this photo of some variety of target drone, that I assume is some variant of the Douglas O-2 or O-25. Does anyone know what the proper designation would be or where I could get more photos of these aircraft? Thanks, Tweener
  7. I thought this photograph from World War Photos was interesting. Captioned as being taken in 1941 at Tulsa, Oklahoma. No serials or squadron identifiers on the P-40's or what appears to be an LB-30. Anybody have any ideas? Mike https://www.worldwarphotos.info/gallery/usa/aircrafts-2-3/p-40-warhawk/early-b-24-bomber-and-curtiss-p-40-fighters-in-tulsa-1941/
  8. Well, I resisted as long as I could but the arrival today of the Xtradecal sheet with markings for a 112 Squadron aircraft with a sharkmouth and desert colours broke my resolve: I've also been waiting for a suitable opportunity to field test Humbrol's excellent new Azure Blue: John
