  1. Evening all, a consistent interest of mine over the years has been aggressor and adversary aircraft in all their flavours, really ever since I got the Osprey Aggressor book on the very early 90s, and their Superbase series that followed. The former book had pics of 86-272 in its original Flogger colour scheme...having been through about six schemes, and having spent the entirety of its life with this unit, she was finally retired to AMARC in December 2023. This is the last scheme she wore...the v.attrarctive Fullback scheme of gunship grey over blue, with fake dielectric areas in light grey and with a black radome. Could be a modelljng project in its own right just to cover this one airframe! For this project used the superlative-and still the best- 1/48 Tamiya F-16c Aggressor boxing, which has the ACMI pod and 'dead gekko' ECM pod necessary for this airframe. I used modelcolour paints, Tamiya reinforcement plates and Two Bobs decals, which all performed v.well. It took me longer to finish than anticipated...Two Bobs would have you put the light grey dielectric areas on both sides of the fin, and I was 99% finished when I saw from pics it's only on the starboard side...hence a long while before I mustered up the courage to carefully mask and respray the offending area, with minimum reapplication of decals. Oh, and I also updated the ACMI pod to reflect thd configuration seen on pictures with stock plastic rod. There is something just 'so right' about the F-16; hope you enjoy the pics!
  2. This build started life in the Bomber/Strike/Ground Attack GB build thread here (brief as it is). I had some issues with the intakes, so built up another fuselage but then the cockpit section wasn't a great fit to the main fuselage so it went on the shelf of shame! Anyway the troublesome joint has now been smoothed and shouldn't be very noticeable after priming; so this is where the model has got to: In the absence of a 25% rule I'm assuming this will be an acceptable entry and it will certainly comply with rule 9 😀 Mike
  3. Here's my 1/48 A-4C, built for the In The Navy group build. Build thread is here: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235072127-a-pair-of-skyhawks/ It's finished as BuNo 147781 of VX-5 in 1965, using Two Bobs decals. This Skyhawk was used by the Naval Air Test Center at China Lake for weapons testing so it needed something under a wing - I found a photo of it carrying an orange and black AGM-62 Walleye so used a Daco resin Walleye. Unfortunately the same photo revealed one error in my model - it didn't have a refuelling probe. I also got the alignment of the 'China Lake' decals on the fin wrong, which I realised too late to fix! thanks for looking Julian
  4. Friends, This is the Italeri A-10 Warthog. I used decals from Twobobs to depict the Hog flown by then Captain ( now Colonel ) Kim Campbell. The kit itself was a bit tricky to assemble. The decals were flawless and I painted the Hog using Model Master acrylic paint. The weapons were a combination of what came with the kit and from the spares box. I also added a True Details resin ejection seat. Recommended.. Thank you in advance!!!!!!! Respectfully submitted, Mike
