  1. No build thread for this one, just made it over the course of the last couple of weeks. Having been away from the bench for a year or so, I decided to break out the starter set to re-hone my abilities. I am fairly happy with the result. The kit is small and fiddly and both the chassis and body were warped. A trying build but definitely a good one to get my hand back in. I have a kit that is half done and I really want to do it justice. Any how, enough waffle, enjoy the photos and as ever, C&C welcomed. Thanks in advance for looking. (and yes, I do have a Registration decals to apply, but that can wait)
  2. Okay - here goes - first RFI (after a colossal lurking time), first motorbike, first commission build and first time using OneDrive....what could possibly go wrong?! Build this in around 24 hours over a 3 month period as a favour for chum at work - who has now very nearly finished his 1:1 scale version. Naturally his real one is showroom fresh and mine is a little more tatty... Let's hope this photo linking malarkey works... I really enjoyed the build - great quality for an early 70's moulding by Esci. There was a point in there where I felt like I needed 3 perfectly coordinated child-sized hands to prise the frame apart to insert the rear wheel and align & glue various bits and bobs but I got through it... Most importantly the customer is happy!
  3. Ever had a project that remained on the bench incomplete for so long, that you finally declare it done one day? This was one unfortunate victim. The kit was donated by a friend, lost a few parts, and became a test bed for some weathering and vignette ideas I had floating around. Unfortunately I never got around to completing the scenery, and I doubt I will ever. So here she is.... The flat tyres were made by softening the wheels on a clothes iron and pressing down, unfortunately it got alittle too soft deforming the hubs themselves. Peeling leather was made by carving out shavings with a new blade. The weathered feel was done by drybrushing. Thanks for watching! Alex.
