  1. to not pollute somebody else's WIP thread I thought I'd start a new one here! First some context: i copy/pasted everything from this thread: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235040296-panther-schmalturm/& @Das Abteilung @Soeren @ironwork @BlackMax12 @Badder @Retired Bob
  2. hi guys im new to this. was wondering if any of you knew if the rubber tracks from the tamiya 1.35 tiger early model would fit the late version of the kit. many thanks mark
  3. I've just built the Tamiya Challenger (and what a lovely kit it is to build!). OOB it has the usual plastic/rubber tracks so I decided to use some accurate Armour resin tracks (the same configuration as the Chieftain). Not knowing any better, I just snapped the track off from the sprues, thinking there was going to be a natural break at the edge. Unfortunately, NO THERE ISN'T - so I now have all of joined tracks with the ends missing (the "metal" part of the track). GUTTED! I've tried supergluing the two pieces together, but there is so little to push against it just won't stick. Moral of this story? Remove AA tracks from their sprues using the correct tool. (I don't think nippers will do as it will either compress the ends of the tracks if used one way; or cut too far away from the sprue if used the other). I COULD still use them if the damaged sides were placed towards the inside and heavily weathered - but... Hey ho! Happy New Year everyone!
  4. Hi, Can anyone tell me please, how many sprues are included in this set? cheers, Peter
  5. Depot Areas & Sludge Tracks Weathering set (A.MIG-7470) Ammo by Mig Jiménez More weathering products from those prodigiously productive people at Ammo. This set is six enamel washes and includes A.MIG-1002 TRACKS WASH, A.MIG-1004 LIGHT RUST WASH, A.MIG-1407 ENGINE GRIME, A.MIG-1408 FRESH ENGINE OIL, & A.MIG-3020 METAL SLAG (pigment). This set is designed to compliment the "Fast Method" set we reviewed here. You can of course mix these to create highly realistic vistas. Your artistry will of course play a part in whether you achieve such levels, but this is a good palette to start you railway diorama career or step up a level. Of course there are many other uses for these prducts outside of railway modelling. Review sample courtesy of
  6. Curiosity as much as anything else, but it crossed my mind to wonder if tank tracks were painted or otherwise coated after production to provide a measure of corrosion protection? Obviously any such coating wouldn't survive long in use when the tracks were mounted on the vehicle but at least some of them must have been kept in storage for a while before use. Interested in any info. John

    Pz III L track links

Does anyone know how many links make up a Pz III L track? I am building Dragon's SU 76i and I have replaced the DS tracks with a set from masterclub. There are 93 links in the DS track but 93 masterclub looks a bit slack. Mick
  8. Hopefully someone can point me in the direction of what replacement tracks would be suitable for a Tamiya M4 Sherman. I see lists of tracks but have no clue as to the difference between them. Easy-ish to build would be good too! Thanks Gary
  9. Got a bit of a poser here (well ,it is for me!) Instructions are telling me to put together x98 links of track for each run,Fair enough but the idler wheel (?) at the rear has no fixed position so how are the two supposed to position properly if nothing has an exact location fix?
  10. Hi, returning to the hobby after number of years and in the process of refurbishing a number of 1/76 and 1/72 tanks. These all have the awful poly tracks (Airfix, Nitto, Fujimi and Matchbox) not surprisingly some have started to disintegrate with age (happens to us all, eventually!). I can find sources of 1/35 scale metal / plastic replacement tracks and am wondering if there are any similar for 1/72 or 1/76. Can anyone help, please?
  11. Hi all, I've just received a Zvedza Tiger today purchased via ebay and to my shock/horror...I discovered I'm missing the flexible band tracks. I've contacted the seller, but in the meantime, what decent third party, reasonably priced track options are there? I've only used the flexible tracks previously, and quiet happy using them, so something similar would be ideal, though cursory glance seems to suggest idividual tracks would be the only available option. 12. T-34 Chevron Type. Mod 1942 Track Links MSD 1:35 To go with the replacement turret reviewed HERE MSD have also released a set of individual track links for a T-34 Mod.1942. The nine sprues of light grey styrene each contain 20 links half with control horns, half without, to produce the Chevron style tracks shown in the box top picture. Unfortunately these are not the nice user-friendly snap and click type, but the glue together type, with no real positive lock. That said with a bit of patience and forward thinking these still look like they will assemble into a good looking set of accurate tracks. Personally I would treat them as you would link and length and assemble as such before fitting to the model. The attachments to the sprues are on the inner and outer edges so clean up is pretty simple after removal, and with no sign of flash, good clean joining points, it shouldn’t take too long to assemble Conclusion Whilst not the easiest method of achieving an accurate length of track, these links do look like they will be very effective.
