After a very busy time during the summer working on houses and gardens it was time to pick up the modelling “habit” again, and at about this time (September) came the momentous news that PCM were going to release a 1/32 scale Hawker Tempest, now this I could not resist as I have been waiting for this kit for years, so I ordered two.
However while researching for the Tempest build my thoughts wandered to the Hawker Typhoon, as it happens there was an MDC Typhoon lurking in the loft that I bought at Telford when the kit was first released all those years ago.
So I fetched it down from the loft for a look see, and decided that I would just start cleaning up the parts.
This led me to buy a new reference book and once I had a pile of cleaned up parts I decided that I may as well start throwing some paint at them, so I accidentally started another build !
Before I go too far let’s just say that the kit is not a Tamiya 1/32 scale marvel, but for the price you do get a very nice kit with a few rough edges. It’s certainly a lot more buildable that some of the ancient 1/32 scale offerings that I have built.
This is my version of the old Revell kit,
And this is the new reference book, highly recommended
It was so good that I got this one as well
So whats in the box
A big tube
With this inside
And lots more stuff
And some extras
