  1. I did say I was going to build something in this GB. I have chosen the Tamiya kit from the stash & will be going for a OOB build ( although it does have a little PE fret). Be gentle as this is my second ever 1/35 tank, I mostly make things with front wings and back wings! Any advice or comments along the way are appreciated, it’s the only way to learn. Box shot
  2. Hi Pals, I finally finished the recovery / update Tamiya Merkava. I liked (modestly) it was finally enough. And it is that a aerbrush is essential to achieve good results, without forgetting the brush of course. I have some material in 30 years, which can also be improved, and seen how was this encourages me to try yet. Link to WIP below http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234998843-the-lion-of-the-desert-merkava-mki/ Thank you for watch and comment, cheers mates And some shot on detail.... Thx for watch and comments, cheers mates
  3. Hi ,following a vicious and uncalled for critque of my painting skills and technique ,i have decided to repaint the following models . Scraped most of the decals off ,next step a fresh coat of dark yellow .

Built this a few years ago ,planning to try and make a rust bucket using the hairspray thingy
  6. I've had this kit, Tamiya, for years and haven't built any armour for almost as long so thought I would have a crack after seeing the Panther build by PlaStix. Tracks are the individual kit ones and are a weak point. I just need to do the crew now that came with the kit. Kit: Tamiya 1/35 Tiger I E Late w/commander and crew. AM: Aber zimmerit in PE, metal barrel/brake, some of an Eduard detail set. Paints: Vallejo Model Air and Tamiya.
  7. Hello, Attention, fresh painting, don't touch. I dropped the others to carry out that. Well, I turn over to finish (not finnish... ) that, it's for Saumur 2017.
  8. Hi everyone. Having 'overdosed' on aircraft recently, I'm keen to try something a little different and since it seems like forever since I last dabbled in 1/35 and even longer since I even so much as looked at armour, post '45, this seems like the perfect excuse! Due to my woeful lack of intelligence on post war Soviet armour and my total inability to ever find what I'm looking for on the internet, to ensure compliance with the rules, I'm wheeling out this 'golden oldie'..... ....which was for years, apparently, the best injection moulded option in 1/35 Despite having been thoroughly 'blown out of the water' by the recent family of T-72's by Trumpeter, I remain 'twitchy' about their high parts count kits having burnt my fingers on their 1/72 Famo and 1/35 Railgun in the past, so for the sake of my eyesight and sanity, the comparatively simplified, but much more 'builder friendly' Tamiya version is the one for me Some 'after market' will make an appearance.... ....but only where it genuinely makes a difference. I have no interest in replacing perfectly serviceable plastic with PE, just because its on the fret - it will have to earn the right to cause me the inevitable aggravation! I'm sure I say it every time, or at least think it. but its worth saying again - I am really looking forward to this! Craig

  11. Hi Everyone, thought I`d show you some pic`s of one of my rare AFV attempts that I`ve decided to call finished Completed to represent a Grant of the 50th Indian Tank Brigade Used the Tamiya 1/35th kit and made a few changes which include; Shortening the mud guards, deletion of the side skirts, left off the machine gun and... added some tracks from the spares box to represent the ones added to the front of the tanks to augument the armour also attempted to mix by eyeball `Jungle Green` paint and fade it to how I think it may have looked ? Hope you enjoy, thanks for looking Cheers Russ

    Pink Panther

Just joined the forum and this is my first post. Never really considered anything I've built worthy of sharing so please be gentle with me http://i994.photobucket.com/albums/af61/lightmaster10/B849171D-8F3D-4525-8BC6-879DCDC94A7C-22572-000015C5852B743B_zps5bd3e9cb.jpg
  18. Hello all. I have recently been inspired by a couple of modellers at my local Model Club to try a military vehicle. My good lady wife got me the Tamiya BMW R75 and sidecar for last Christmas, and as I was struggling with another kit I thought it was a good time to try out something outside my comfort zone. I know it is not the best out there in terms of finished models, but I had a great deal of fun with it. One thing I really wanted to try out was some new weathering techniques. I painted the model with Humbrol enamels, coated it with Clear then used oil paints with some Liquin which helped its application and speeded up the drying time. I wiped off the oils with and old brush dipped in white spirit, and also used some oils thinned with white spirit to try and get it to flow around some of the raised details. I would greatly appreciate any advice that may be given, especially as I have a Tamiya Matilda in the stash to do too. Please forgive the general finish, I missed seams and moulding lines, and probably got the markings wrong too, but I (and my wife) are chuffed with the result. Thanks for looking, kind regards, Ray
  19. After a couple of Tigers, I thought it about time to look at the other 'animal' in the inventory. Oft described as the finest medium tank of WW2, the Panther was rightly feared by it's opponents. Fragile engine and transmission let the tank down and the problems were not fully solved by the wars' end. Nevertheless, both the Soviets and the French used captured tanks until superior designs were available. This kit, another evilbay bargain, included Verlinden's zimmerit set. This comprises of a new turret and mantlet, together with rear hull plate and stowage boxes. Of course, designed for this kit, it doesn't fit all that well, much cutting, sanding and filling is required to get the parts on the model. So, without further ado, here's where it stand ay present. I've used Vallejo filler to eliminate the gaps as it's easy to work into a vague zimmerit pattern. W
