This topic is a bit of a beg to be honest, but we will get to that later. This family of helicopters has appealed to me for a long time but has always seemed like the Chinook's poor cousin in terms of public perception and for the life of me I cannot figure out why. This helicopter has done, and continues to do, almost everything that has ever been asked of a helo from troop transport to fleet replenishment to SAR and putting out fires and much more. It comes in several versions and in some cracking colour schemes, lets take a look at some of them; There's the US Navy Now that is a standard some would say boring over all grey, but there is nothing boring about this one! Colourful enough for you? And then there is the USMC, the largest operator of the "Phrog" who only recently replaced them, they came in green; As used in Vietnam, incidentally a Marines CH-46 was the last helo to depart from the US embassy in Saigon. Then there were the multi-coloured camo ones like this; As used in the Gulf War. And then there were the colourful rescue versions, a scheme also used by the US Navy; And lets not the forget the KV-107's built in Japan and used by the JASDF; The JMSDF; And the JGSDF. They were also used by Sweden in the awesome splinter camo (as well as just green); There was Thailand; And Saudi Arabia; And I know it never carried the red, white and blue roundels of the UK but you cannot get more red, white and blue than this one!; Or a nice yellow one; So my question is this. Why not build one? I have a thread running for a STGB and we need support if we are to make the numbers required. We are only 3 short of the 25 needed and we would really like for this one to go ahead as it is for something a bit different from the normal Spitfires,109's,Mustangs,Phantoms and the like, not that there is anything wrong with those as i build them myself but just for a change lets fill a STGB slot with something different and quite colourful. If you feel like putting your name down then pop along to the proposal in this link; Your support will be greatly appreciated. Craig.

Hello everyone, My last few models were without WIP posts because I knew I would make them quickly and so the WIP wouldn't have more than three posts from my part. However, this kit is different because it is discontinued. Also, it is my first Fujimi in 20 years and a kit I had already done twice when I was a kid, so I hardly remember about in anyway. This decal set is what's discontinued and even though scalemates sets it at 1997, the instruction manual was printed in 1987. So I would like to share with you guys the WIP for the Chinook. I will take my time for this build as I get the right paints from the right brands and chances are, it will be in the backburner while other kits swift through... For some mysterious reason I'm nervous about this one. Needs slicing pieces in half and removing bits of plastic, things I'm not familiar with and don't want to mess up, either. At the corner of the table, my last two models. They were painted with olive drab and I thought of painting the Chinook Olive Drab too but desisted. I'll wait to get the right paints for hand painting, Vallejo paints...

This build has been dribbling on for months now and I've had a real problem overcoming my block with it. The problem is that it was a bit of an impulse buy in an MZ sale (remember those?). It was a big colourful chunk of a kit for a tenner, and although I don't have any particular interest in the actual aircraft or usually build 'copters in 1/48 I decided to get it anyway. It was getting in the way a few months ago so I decided to build it; not, perhaps, the best reason to start a project. Anyway, it's done now and I'm reasonably pleased with the result. Built mainly OOB apart from a couple of little lights and bits of wire, there were no fit issues or difficulties encountered. The decals behaved well, the only problems being that they aren't all that opaque and the underlying colours show through in a couple of places, and also that some were slightly out of register. Cheers, Liam

Hello Everyone Its here at last. At last years Nats we were asked if we would produce the Sea Knight Rotor Fold. Well you asked and we did it. The Rotor Arm End piece The Blade End piece This is the Rotor fold assembly fitted to the fuselage when viewed from above For more information go to http://www.scalewarship.com Look out for our next instalment of Helicopter goodies as we are now looking at the Osprey. Before I get inundated with emails I know its not a helicopter in the strictest sense but it fits the range of conversion kits nicely. Best regards John
