  1. After a Westland Wasp (link) , LF Models is to release in Q1 2024 a 1/72nd Westland Scout kit. Source: https://www.facebook.com/story.php/?id=100086313627184&story_fbid=339602142260237 V.P.
  2. About the plane: Pemberton-Billing P.B. 25 was a development of P.B. 23 - not very successful reconnaissance aircraft from 1915. 20 pieces were made - 9001 had a two-blade propeller. 9002-9020 already had four blades. 9003-9020 were armed. I won't lie he wasn't good (it seems that the airmen used unrefined terms about him), but you have to admit: he's so ugly that he's pretty 😃 About the item: 9002 was the only one of the "four-blade nineteen" not equipped with weapons and that's what decided to make this copy 🙂 I couldn't find more about the history of his life and service 🙁 About the model: The basis was the AviS model in 1:72 scale. The rigging from the plans is slightly incomplete - I tried to recreate it based on a few photos I found on the web.

  5. So my first contribution to the GB will be the Scout F a development for the Scout but I’ve chosen it firstly because I like it’s looks and secondly because it looks much more like an interwar fighter than a WWI plane. First job is to scale these to 1/48.
  6. AMP is to release a 1/48th Boeing YL-15 Scout kit - ref. 48016 Source: https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=2444412328969822&id=1416295571781508 V.P.
  7. Scout & Wasp out next year late...... both in 1/72 Wasp also in 1/48 Scout also in 1/35 !
  8. With the Lincoln done, it's time to make a serious start on the Scout. I've started with the old Fujimi 1/50 Westland Wasp kit, which isn't too bad in outline but is low on detail. As many here will know, the Wasp differs from the Scout primarily in the undercarriage and rear tail areas. I've removed the offending undercarriage support areas and antenna lump from the lower fuselage and cut the rear part of the fin away (saw disc on the Dremel works wonders!). Unfortunately, it's left a rather ragged hole which I'm going to have to fill after joining the halves permanently. There are a lot of rivets on this kit and, in this case, I need to retain them as much as possible as they are quite prominent on the real aircraft being domed rivets, rather than flush (pretty much the standard for helicopters due to their low speed). I reckon some of the bits I cut off the Lancaster for the Lincoln conversion will fit the bill nicely, as they already have rivet detail on the plastic but if not, I've bought some stick-on rivets to add later. I'll use the same for the fin and (possibly) the horizontal stab, both of which will need to be made from scratch. The instrument panel is extremely basic and incorrect, so I'll build a new one from plasticard using my new punch set from MicroMark and the excellent Airscale decals. Scratchbuilt instrument panel is in progress, as are the internal mods needed. I'll be tinting the upper canopy windows with Future and blue food colour, too.
  9. Two Scouts completed for Eleventh Hour GB, a Libra vac and Mac kits. Couldn't help doing a group shot with a Pegasus Bristol M1C
  10. Hello All, A bit late to the party but here is my project, two Bristol Scouts, one injection moulded by MAC and a vacform by Libra. Some spare parts from the MAC one including decals will be used in the vac build. Not decided schemes yet but the Libra will be a 'D' and the MAC a 'C' Just noticed the Libra kit is issue 001, would have been a collectors item if I hadn't already started chopping it up!
  11. Special Hobby is to release a 1/32nd Bristol M1C Monoplane Scout kit - ref. SH32057 Source: http://www.modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=97&p=1580692#p1580692 V.P.
  12. Westland Scout AH.1 XT617, pics mine taken at Wattisham Station Heritage Museum.
  13. Bristol M.1C Monoplane Scout. Pics thanks to Mark Mills. This aircraft is replica built for the Shuttleworth Collection but it uses an original 110hp Le Rhone engine.
