Hi, This is another archive model from my shelves. I did it in 1978 or winter 1979. It is a scratch build or rather perhaps scratch conversion from... Airfix Grumman Duck! which elments I used as base for reshaping. Like in case of Curtiss Hawk III (which was done in the same time back 40 years ago, one after another but I do not remeber now order) I repaired it now as a result of adding riging by EZ. The model presents machine of Group 28 fighting in 1938 on Republican side in Catalonia. Comments welcome regards J-W

Hi, My next model this year is RWD-9, This is a machine very fameous in Poland (and I do not know why not made as model so far). She is fameous because of winning of the international aviation competition - the Challenge in 1934 with crew Jerzy Bajan and Gustaw Pokrzewka (BTW G.Pokrzewka was said to be some relative of my wife family...I have never checked it yet!). Second was also another Polish crew on RWD-9 . More about this story you may find here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Challenge_International_de_Tourisme_1934 Only 10 RWD-9 were produces, but then it developed into RWD-13, a very popular Polish light transport machine from Interwar period. Those two winning RWD-9s were equipped with Skoda engine. In Spanish Civil War two RWD-9 took part, but equipped with other engine, namely the Walter Bora. They were bought by Spanish Republic in 1935, so about a year before the war. Those times machines were painted in red/alu livery as Polish RWD-9. They wore military registration EM-W46 and EW-W-50. I made model of EM-W46 which crashed in France in October 1936, during some mission to Tulouse. There are no photos of Spanish RWD-9 during war but a rudder and prop survived, so my scheme is a kine of speculative look based on what I knew. Here is about the build: I short: I build it as a scratch conversion from RWD-6 model by ZTS-Plastyk, painted in pre-war livery and then applied war camo. Here she is in SCW clours: Maybe she looked more interesting in pre-war colurs only with red belts added, but such configuration is not sure to exists ever And here with sisters, RWD-6 made 20 years ago OOB of ZTS-Plastyk kit by my son Jacek (he was about 14 when he build it - the red strips on tail should be black regarding current knowledge - this is machine which won Challenge 1932 with crew Franciszek Żwirko and Stanisław Wigura) and Romanian RWD-13 done by myself from Broplan vacu model also many years ago: Comments welcome Regards Jerzy-Wojtek
