Hi guys, I am currently building HobbyBoss Panzer IA. I am going for vehicle number 833 from the 5 Leichte Division. I am trying to figure out the following: Which Panzer IA model was it. 3.Serie La.S, or 4.Serie La.S? And which modifications were present on the vehicle? HobbyBoss instructions suggesting 3.Serie La.S, but I am not so sure about it as some sources on internet suggest it's a late version (although not sure what late version mean exactly). Statistically speaking, the biggest chances are it's 3.Serie La.S with some modifications, like wider glacis hatch, Bosch horn, Notek and Convoy lights, smoke grenade racks, rear armor, etc. but I can't be sure from the references I found. Was it ever painted with RAL 8000? Hoby Boss and other manufacturers are suggesting in their instructions that it was, but the only photo I was able to find, it's painted Dunkelgrau. This is the only photo I was able to find in my references and on the internet: You can see that there is smoke grenades rack and rear armor but other than that, can't figure out any other modifications. Maybe convoy light, if you increase contrast? Does anybody have any other photo and reference material for this vehicle? Thanks, Nenad

I really fancy doing a Mirage IV in 1/72, but in prototype form. The Wikipedia blurb suggests that there were structural changes between the prototype and production versions: the fin change looks obvious, but there was also an increase in wing area (from 62m2 to 77.9m2). I see Model Art do a decal sheet for prototype 01. Can anyone shed any light on how much work it is to modify the A&A kit to represent this? I have no references on the Mirage IV and I'm struggling to find much online. If anyone can recommend a suitable book that covers the prototypes that would be great too! Mike

I've taken it into my head to make amends for my Vietnam GB PT-76 fail by converting the (essentially identical) PST 1/72 BTR-50 into an OT-62B by kitbashing it with the venerable ACE kit. The latter is a bit short on fine detail, so I was wondering if any of you fellows could point me towards some decent references for this type.....I'm hoping to build the version with the 7.62mm MMG/82mm RR turret. One of the things I'd particularly like to find would be some detailed shots of the 82mm T-21 "Tarasnice" Recoilless Rifle as mounted on this turret. I should probably add that I've already found the walk-around for the captured Egyptian example at Latrun, but this vehicle lacks many of the features I'm interested in: http://www.primeportal.net/apc/andre_patschke/ot-62_topaz/
