This is the second Tamiya 1/48th scale Mosquito I built when they were first released. The first one I built was the FB Mk VI version. This is the Tamiya Mosquito B Mk.IV released in 1999. Painted with Aeromaster acrylic paint. The decals were supplied with the kit and are 109 Squadron markings. Thank you for looking, Joe Link to FB Mk VI http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234984216-banff-strike-wing-mosquito/

With the release of the new Tamiya 1/32nd Mosquito coming soon, I remembered, that I had made a couple of 1/48th scale Tamiya Mosquitos when they were first released, that had been put up the loft. I made both the FB Mk VI, and the B Mk IV. They have been up there, in a box for the last 16 plus years. This is the FB Mk VI released way back in 1998. It is painted with Aeromaster acrylic. The decals are from Aeromaster Set 48-426 Mosquito Raiders Part 11. 248 Squadron, Banff Strike Wing. The starboard fuselage roundel has lifted a bit, and a crack has appeared around a panel underneath the fuselage. I had not discovered weathering at this stage, so no panel lines or exhaust stains have been applied. Thanks for looking, Joe Can't wait for the 1/32nd Mosquito. Thanks for looking, Joe

This is the 1/48th Tamiya Douglas A-1H Skyraider. US Navy. VA25 squadron. The only additions to the kit, apart from the decals, were etched seat belts. I used Aeromaster Acrylic Matt Light Gull Grey, and Tamiya Matt White to paint the model. The decals are from Aeromaster set 48-530. Black Gouache was used for the panel lines and exhaust stain. Thank you for looking, Joe

This is the Tamiya 1/48th scale Meteor F.1. I made this when it was first released 18 years ago (1997). It came in for a lot of criticism at the time because it had air brakes, and the Meteor F.1 had none. It transpired that Tamiya had based their kit on the Meteor F.1 at the RAF Museum Cosford. This Meteor had had its wing replaced after an engine malfunction with a wing that did have air brakes. Tamiya corrected the wing, and re- released the kit with the correct F.1 wing. This model is based on the Meteor at Cosford. I also made a mistake on my model (there's more than one I'm sure). But this particular one, I didn't notice until I had put the decals on. It was too late to change then. No prizes for anyone who can see it. Thank you for looking, Joe.
