  1. I made this model 4 years ago, I didn't post anything online about it at the time but I recently mentioned it on another forum & it was requested that I post some photos, I thought I'd share them here too while I was at it 😛 The kit is from the Polish manufacture RPM models and is a fictional what-if design that combines their Vickers E model kit with the turret from their TKW II kit, you can read more about here. The kit was a fun little project & an intriguing subject, the only issues were the ugly solid headlamps & the rubber tracks not fitting correctly on the sprockets.
  2. Dear all, I trust you're all well. Here's a look at my recently finished RPM T17E2 Staghound in 1:72, in the markings of the 'Brigade Piron' from the liberation of Brussels and Antwerp in 1944. RPM has produced a great little kit with tons of detail, although rather over-engineered in places. The turret for consists of over a dozen parts, which is why I choose to swap it for a (correct for this version) resin one from Modell Trans from Germany, with a brass 37 mm main gun to top it off. As I wanted to show the entrance hatch open, I included the interior from the kit with some extra added details, and also glued the basket under the turret. The equipment came from various sets from Black Dog, the figure is from Tom Taylor Modelworks. For the decals I used the 'Brigade Piron' sheet from Braille Strike, that has several more armoured cars from this unit on it. Weathering was kept rather light, I just added a black brown pin wash and finished it off with a dusting from Tamiya's weathering set A. I hope you like it. Peter
  3. Greetings Edwardian War Enthusiasts I had planned a Killen Strait tractor for this GB but more information has become available so I'll hold off. Thanks to @Sgt.Squarehead a substitute has appeared in a timely manner in the form of this Thankfully beautifully packed as the original box is little better than smoke at offering protection.... However inside are two beautifully moulded sprues in satin black plastic 😨 which got a mist coat of white primer so I could see details so I've got to admit that the level of detail is amazing matched only by the complexity of the build in places. RPM have made no shortcuts in quality at all. Finally here is Airfix Magazine April 1979 that planted the seed all those years ago There is a little more in War Cars by David Fletcher (HMSO) and Photo History of Armoured Cars in Two World Wars by George Forty (Blandford). The plan is of a Vickers MG carrier from 20 Battery MMGS rather than the Lewis gun armed light patrol car. Still valid for this GB as 20 MMGS was formed after the start of the war until becoming the 13 Light Armoured Motor Battery in June 1916. However I shall be doing the Western Desert version. It should be different.
  4. A slightly older build of RPM Models 1/72 Panhard 178(B). Unfortunately, the decals weren't of any use and only 1 was able to be used. Although the kit was rather crude in some ways, it was very enjoyable, and went together far better than I was expecting. That said, it is missing one of the viewports that is supposed to go on the left-side entry door, and the sprue attachments are massive in places. Plastic was soft and easily worked with, thankfully, and this helped make the build very enjoyable.
