  1. Hello everyone I am planning the 2-tone camouflage of my M3 Grant tank (desert colours) and have bought some Mig Ammo Camouflage putty. I don't own an airbrush (yet!) but wondered if anyone has used this technique with normal brushes and could tell me if it works OK or if there are any pitfalls. Thanks for any help!! 🙂
  2. Have just bought (should be 'invested' given the price) in a jar of Liquid Putty as it seems on the face of it to be ideal to fill very fine joint gaps and also gaps between the canopy and body of the aircraft but wondered if anyone else has used it and if there are any pitfalls to avoid? Regards Colin.
  3. Hello fellow modellers, I have been dying to ask this question but haven't got many answers. I want to attempt a custom wideobody on a 1/24 scale car. It is virtually impossible to get tamiya 2 part epoxy putty in the uk from my experience. If you know anywhere that sells it please let me know. I have looked around and milliput seems to be coming up a lot. Which type of milliput would be the best for my purpose as there is the standard, turquoise, black, white etc. If not milliput what else could I use that would work well. I have heard about greenstuff but it seems to have mixed reviews.
  4. Hey, I was surfing around for reviews of the above product but without much success, so far. Did any of you used this already and can report? I'd be mainly interested in shrinkage, ability to re-scribe panel lines after it cured, curing time and the like. Many thanks in advance!
  5. Just wondered if anybody could offer some advice about a small number of items, the first of which is putty... I used two types in my younger years - squadron green when available (was rare) and Tamiya. The Tamiya product was easy to work with as I recall, but once sanded and conformal was prone to shrinking over time, which meant there was often evidence of a gap that had been filled once the kit was painted...this was quite frustrating. Can anybody offer suggestions as to which product would generally be the Modeler's choice these days please? I'm hoping the Tamiya issue was user-induced and not a fault of the product itself. Also, regarding Scribing. This is new to me, my teenage attempts were rather crude and it was often better just to ignore the lack of detail (easy enough for me with 1/72) than to slash the plastic in whatever razor-like fashion I practiced at the time. Again, am hoping members could offer advice on which way to turn for a tool that is best suited for 1/48 aircraft panel lines? There are a couple of other things I wanted to bring up, but they escape me at this time of the night...I'll add some more later. Many thanks to those of you who've taken the time to read this and can impart some wisdom.... Launchpad
  6. Hi All, This is my first question beside the introductory post. Im a new modeler (after have started and stopped it some 20 years ago) and have been educating myself on the internet and in this forum particularly. Now, few weeks into the hobby and 3 kits later, Im working on Airfix 1:72 RAF BAE Hawk which i think is from 2011/12 but the model itself is the 208® Squadron from 2009. I have assembled most of it and primed. I have filled evident gaps with putty but I have a question on what normally you guys do for the parts I show below. I would like this kit to be the first Im proud off since i restarted with it. I tried to check on videos and articles on the internet but no luck on finding this specific info. If it was asked before please point me in the direction of it Please consider this will be a gloss black finish and though its not for a competition or something like that i want it to be a nice looking kit. So to the questions: Both wings have quite a bit of a gap as in the picture below, do you usually fill that kind of gap? Also in the stabilizers: And finally on the nose, the inside part where it will be covered with the canopy, i had a gap and i have filled and sanded it but now i dont know if to be more realistic it should be completely rounded without the mark in the middle or not: Many thanks and happy Sunday
