The Lady in the Dark takes to the night sky. Just finished GWH or Lion Roar's (whatever they prefer to be called) 1/48 Northrop P-61B Black Widow. This kit was quite nice to put together, well detailed, fit was good for the most part. I did find some design choices questionable such as the lack of a wing spar and wobbly landing gear placement but despite that I enjoyed working on this subject and yes, I would not have painted it any other color than black. The P-61 has been a long time favorite of mine. This is my first completed Hobby Boss kit, and I have to say, they've come a long way! Fit was excellent for the most part. Just a couple areas needed fiddling with, mostly around the clear nose. At first I was leery of the simplistic approach HB takes, but it actually works out well. I definitely want to do an A now. In my refs, the Widows in the pacific just got dirty and dull fast, like this 419th NFS bird. So I elected to keep it with an overall dullcote. I'm happy with the effect. Enjoy! -
