This group of figures are based on the painting by E C Fripp "The Last Stand of the 24th" and are produced by Mitches Military Models in 75mm Since seeing the film "ZULU" and later "Zulu Dawn" I have had a fascination with the Anglo Zulu war of 1879, especially the battles of Rorke's Drift and Isandlwana. These are my latest figures based on that war. They are painted with Humbrol enamels mainly, with some Tamiya acrylics used for the brass/gold bits. Fripp's painting, on display in the National Army Museum in Chelsea: Close up of the figures which inspired this vignette: Thanks for looking, Angelo

I went and bought one of these yesterday (see below), I very nearly got one last year at Cosford & Telford after chatting to Ross of Mitches Military Models but I decide against it. But when I saw this yesterday I just had to bite the bullet! I will be starting on it very soon, I'm just finishing my new room for modelling then I can get cracking.. One question though, does anyone have any good references for a 1944 Para? TIA.... Radders 120mm Parachute Regiment Drop Order 1944 soldier. by Totallyrad.co.uk, on Flickr
