  1. Hi all, Returning to modeling with a Eduard Pacific P-38 kit I chanced upon on ebay, having just read "Forked-Tailed Devil" previously, I had to have it. Interesting project so far being the first time I've used either photo etched or resin parts. Safe to say I've lost/crushed a few PE bits & made a few errors along the way but still pleased with it so far. Not feeling ready to do a NMF I'm aiming to build it up to an olive green / grey version flown by Capt Jay T Robbins in 1943 I'm nearing the stage to start painting (1st att
  2. Hi all, I've recently bought the Trumpeter Ju-87A 1/24 kit (02420) and naively(?) thought a canopy mask would be available, however after an exhaustive search I cannot find one. Does anyone know where I can get one, or does someone have one they can sell me please? NB. It MUST be the Ju-87A, NOT the Ju-87B as the canopy design was different, particularly the rear gunners part. I'm struggling to comprehend why Eduard or Montex didn't provide one for this kit! If you have built this kit, what did you use? I'm not an experienced modeler so please bear this

    Oramask 810

A hopeful request from someone who has just acquired a Cricut Explore Air 2: Can any kindly BM'er let me have some offcuts of Oramask 810 that I can try without investing in a 5 meter roll? I'll happily reimburse you for the postage and if you're at Telford next year, also stand you a bacon roll... Apart from the scrounging, does anyone here regularly use a cutter with this material, I'm experimenting with Tamiya masking sheet first on the grounds that I can never get vinyl canopy masks (e.g. Montex or P-Mask) to conform to curves like the the Eduard "washi" masks. I bought this b
  4. Hello, As the title suggests, I am looking to see if any manufacturer makes a mask set for the AZ wildcat series. I have the F4F-3 and the FM-2 Wildcats and if no mask set has been made are there alternatives that would be very close? Thank you, Jeffers.
  5. Fokker D.VII OAW Mask set Eduard 1:48 Recently released to accompany the 'Weekend' kit is a set of wheel masks. The should actually fit any of Eduards D.VIIs. Cut on a small square of kabuki tape, they will make short work of masking off the ‘hubs’ and simplifying the task of painting the tyres. Just remember that WW1 tyres were never black, but ranged from dark grey up to a pinkish white. Review sample courtesy of
  6. Hello again! Since I have plans to build some airliners after Christmas, there is one question I have... and that is: What do I do with windows? I don't think the kits that I'll be making come with the plexiglass inserts for the windows. I do not want to fill them up because that would mean I'd have to buy window decals which costs more £££. I am planning on leaving them open, as this will also make painting easier. However, I still want the plane to look nice and dont want my modelling dignity to leak out the windows ( ), so maybe covering the windows from the back or something? So just d

  8. Fw190A-8 Etch & Canopy Masks for the Airfix Kit Eduard 1:72 The new FW190 from Airfix is a great kit and generally well received in the community despite some niggles that have been covered in builds and reviews. Eduard are always on the case looking for ways to improve kits and they've released these sets. Fw190A-8 Etch detail (Set 73493) As you would expect, the cockpit gets plenty of attention from this two fret pack with some self adhesive pre-painted etch. Both front and side panels are provided in painted etch, as are the seatbelts. A nice little touch is the inclusion of so
  9. Hi all, I'm a complete novice just trying to get my kit together before embarking on some (hopefully) great modelling journeys. I've an airbrush which I haven't yet used, just a bargain basement thing from eBay (didn't see the point in splashing out straight away, I can always expand at a later date). The one thing I feel the need to purchase is a respirator or mask of some sort; my modelling will be taking place in the garage and there are no windows and with winter almost here, I'll be keeping the door shut! Can anybody recommend a mask or respirator? It doesn't need to be too flashy and t
  10. As well as the new Eduard 1/72 Bf110G-4 and 1/48 F-15A/C 'Fighting Eagles' we have the latest Eduard Brassin in 1/48 and 1/72. This includes the 1/48 GBU-24 Paveway III's and Russian Alamo-C missiles, also in 1/72 the Ju88 Wheels. There's also a couple of new kits in - the Trumpeter 1/48 MiG-23MF Flogger B and in 1/72 the Hobby Boss Sukhoi PAK-FA T-50 stealth fighter. All at discounted prices! http://www.mjwmodels.co.uk/ thanks Mike
  11. I have laid down my base coat on a 1:48 Airfix Spitfire Va. The Painting diagrams are not to scale. I could try and scan them in and enlarge the diagram to make paintiing masks. I see some people use blue-tack. I am not that skilled with an airbrush yet so I would have to mask the camo. I see in Brett Green's video he raises the mask with blue tack. Of course he is working with a commercial product and on a 109, neither of which help. Any suggestions?
