  1. in the 1930s Junkers made some very rugged aircraft that were particularly well suited to the Canadian climate. The Junkers 52 was one of these so they bought one. Unlike what you normally expect to see when you look at this aircraft there is only one engine which is not supplemented by the two on the wings. To achieve a model of this aircraft I am using an Italeri floatplane Ju 52/3m (The 3m meaning three engines) and a conversion kit from Bird models. This company's engine for the nose is excellent but I cannot say the same for the resin supplied to disguise the removal of the wing engines. I have various alternate methods to overcome the wing engine problem and there will be more of that later. The model will be finished off using the excellent decals from J Bot Please bear with me on the image hosting thing as I am now trying to use imgur as my Flickr account was full years ago and I'm fed up with deleting images. https://imgur.com/aPvCJA6 https://imgur.com/mRzO2c5 https://imgur.com/Uu5tYJw https://imgur.com/eIEGeNb Cheers CanAdrian
  2. Hello there! After some time I would like to present you my next German project - little Junkers family (meant in 1/144 scale). I discovered the Junkers G.38 in an internet sale and I needed it immediately. I haven't met this machine before and it was somenthing new to me. Also I always wanted to try corrugated iron aircraft and this is the best option for me so far. Before I started the build of G.38 I also bought the Ju-52 (Eduard kit) in the same scale and the new idea was to do a dualbuild of these two corrugated iron designs. But at first, let's have some fun with which I build these German models...(the Mont Python Flying Circus Johann Gambolputty Sletch) It always come to my head when I see the G.38 who knows why... I will go for this Tante Ju from the Berlin Olympics Games in 1936 and the G.38 D-APIS: Let's go for the builds: I started with the Tante Ju first - it is a model of a poorer quality so I wanted to be done quickly as possible. I glued the wings together which are now curing and then worked on the fuselage. First were the windows which fits perfectly. Then the interior parts such as floor, cokpit and the bulkheads. I made the new steering wheels (they were missing in the kit). Then I painted the interior with black Surfacer, only the cockpit with it's details I painted RLM_02 as recommended. After that I glued the fuselage together also with the back part. And that's the current state of the Ju-52 The greates issue so far was the front bottom of the fuselage - the bottom nose section had to be spread out by 1.2 mm to fit with the wings: The second problematic part was the back of the fuselage. This part is slightly bent and needs to be glued gradually. I started at the front and went to the tail: (sadly some glue leaked onto the corrugated iron surface ) The second build (the Junkers G.38) started with the same process of the glueing the windows into the fuselage sides and clearing the other interior parts for painting. I will replicate the black colour interior due to it's small windows, only the pilot's cockpit will be colourful (and maybe the passenger area in the wing roots). Look at the size comparison of the wingspan! And both wrinkled aircraft together... Thanks for watching! Cheers, Andrew
  3. When I build Italeri Ju52 minesweeper, I confused with the colours on upper side. Did they remain RLM 70/71 common with transports, or take RLM 72/73 as maritime aircraft? Italeri instruction said FS34079\FS34092, seemed alike 72/73, but how could we trust Italeri instruction...it referred RLM65 as "Light ghost gray", with incorrect splinter schemes... Here is a floatplane version, should this one use RLM 72/73 as other floats?
