Here is my finished Zvezda Boeing 737-8MG(WL) in the Jet2Holidays livery with registration G-JZHK. I opted for this livery and registration as I flew on this particular aircraft back in 2017 and she was only about 4/5 months old at the time, you could still smell the newness. I’m also quite a fan of this livery, it’s effective and stands out just enough. It’s also identical to that of the American low cost carrier Allegiant and I tried to do some digging in to this. From what I gathered Jet2 leased 2 752s from Allegiant and they had just painted them, so Jet2 simply added the Jet2Holidays titles. I think there is also some history of European carriers fleet sharing with North American carriers when demand is lower, I know the TUI and Sunwing one is an example of this. The build was a simple enough OOB build, with the decals from RichW. This is my second set of decals now that I have used from Rich, after my BA 772. The windows are from AA. I don’t need to say much about the Zvezda kit, as it’s a good one, and goes together very well. The paints used were Halfords Appliance White for the fuselage, the blue is Revell’s 52 which I lightened with some white to try and match the shade more accurately to the real thing and then brush painted it to be fuselage and nacelles. The wings and stabs are Halfords Racking Grey and the metallics are a mixture of Revell’s Aqua range. The decals are excellent and fit the model brilliantly. I have a few more sets of decals from Rich, including a Qatar 777-200(LR) and TAP A320. I messed up the winglet decals though which I’m annoyed about. I’m also looking to do one of the BA World tails on a B737-300 as well soon. I am currently, working on my Qatar B772(LR) and VietJet A321, though I also have a Volotea A319 that I need to finish decaling. Anyway, I have gone on long enough now, thank you for looking and as always any comments or constructive feedback is very welcome. Regards, Alistair
My completed Jet2 Boeing 737-800 in 1/144 Scale using the Zvezda Kit. I really like the Zvezda kits, they go together really well and the detail is excellent, the most intricate part is probably the Nose gear assembly. Fuselage was sprayed using Tamiya Silver Mica rattle can, engines, tail and winglets Revell Red. Wings and stabs Revell 371 with Revell 90 leading edges. After market decals from DrawDecal completed this Airliner perfectly. Thank you for looking and any feedback is greatly appreciated. Alistair
Once upon a time, well, in 2016 anyway, there was the Airliners III group build...... Despite never having built an airliner before, I decided this was going to be my first group build contribution. In a triumph of enthusiasm, naivety and recklessness, I entered late on with an Eastern Express Boeing 737-300. The group build archive documents my attempts to force the warped fuselage and wings into reasonable shapes, but it was inevitable that I would eventually run out of time. For the past year the model and I have had occasional interactions, with long periods of rest and recuperation in between, but finally, having fought me all the way, I've reached the point where I can declare the thing complete. Even the painting, given that its such a simple scheme, took far too long, learning that Humbrol Clear over Halfords Appliance White is a no-no, and that DBI Boeing grey goes on beautifully and simply, but comes off with equal ease. The paint scheme is a bit of an oddity, and represents G-GDFB in the transition livery it wore in 2011 when it became part of the Jet2 fleet having previously served with Aegean Airlines. Decals are from Britmodeller's own RICHW, and gave refreshingly little trouble. Apologies for the makeshift photographic set up, all white models are a bit of a challenge. Would I do another Eastern Express 737? Absolutely.........not. Jon
Hello everybody!!! It's just few day till Christmas and I finally got my Daco 737-300 1:144!! Great!! It's my first model ever!!! I'm quite scared how it will look like when finished I'm going to make it Jet2 plane, reg G-CELK Jet2 Edinburgh. And why Jet2 and why LK? I've first flown aircraft in Jan 2012, Manchester to Prague on Jet2 737-300, but I don't remember the reg. And LK is as I currently live and work @Edinburgh and even work at the airport! Now to the model. It's pretty nice. I've found only one small dent on underneath the wing. No big deal. I will add more photos as building will continue DAY 1
Hello everyone! This is my first post in this 'Ready for Inspection' forum and is of a Jet2 Boeing 737-800 in 1/144 scale using the Revell model kit plus the Authentic Airliners 737NG Improvement Kit for the engines and winglets. Using advice from the BM forum regarding the Jet2 silver, I have painted the fuselage Tamiya TS-76 Mica Silver and then oversprayed with Tamiya TS-65 Pearl Clear which seems to work pretty well. For the tail, engines and winglets I have used Testers 1103 Gloss Red which seems pretty close to the Jet2 red. As they aren't available in the market as screen printed decals, I have created the Jet2 decal artwork sheet myself from scratch and had them professionally screen printed. Thanks and I hope you like it. Richard
