  1. Hello everybody... Some of you know I've gone a bit Daffy lately, and started a long term project. Im building all of the major variants of one my favorite pilots Josef "Pip's" Priller. I have started with his first mount with JG-26 the Bf109-E7, white "8". It represents a time frame sometime in the late spring of 1941. For this build i used the newer Airfix 109E4 kit in 1/72. I modified it by giving it a full spinner, and used a spare drop tank mount & Eduard tank from a BF-110D kit. The antenna snapped when removing it from the sprue do that is just a piece of plastic strip cut to length. Questions, comments, or thoughts are welcome ? My next Priller build will be his Fw.190A3, so if you're curious please check in on the link from time to time. Dennis
  2. Does anyone know if there are any biographies on Josef Priller ? If not whats the best squadron history for both JG51 and JG26 in the Battle of Britain. Also looking for info regarding JG26's defense of the west time frame. Im looking to build all of Priller's aircraft ? Im thinking any books on JG26 would cover Priller ? Im also set for his Bf-109E1/3/7 markings and photos. Now with his Bf-109F white 1, Ive not seen much on it. However i have a few b&w photo's of it. Just not sure if it was an F2 or F4 I've seen both credited to him ? Any thoughts on this ? Any Information on his Fw-190D9 Black 14 ? So far all i have seen is a profile of this ? The rest of his FW190's the A-2/3/5/8 I have plenty of actual photo's but the D9 is lacking in photo evidence. Im also quite skeptical that at that late stage of the war he would have changed from Black 13 to 14 ? Again any info or thoughts are welcome. Dennis
  3. This is a placeholder for a project I'm hoping to get round to soon. Back in 1971 the 9-year-old me was captivated by the appearance in Woolworths of an exciting new box: The image of the 2 aircraft roaring across their grass airfield in Northern France was exactly what we had seen just a few months before with the release of the Battle of Britain film, and of course in those days we all knew that BoB-era 109s were 2-tone green and light blue with the high demarcation and no mottle spoiling the purity. Revell thought so too: https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/6/6/2/258662-13150-54-pristine.jpg That Airfix box art has long been one of my favourites but apparently the company didn't think so, as within a remarkably short space of time they had replaced it with this: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/59/85/e0/5985e06701418d6f5676496e32768570.jpg I'm sure they had their reasons but it seemed like a backwards step to me, then and since. I've never built the big Airfix kit but I have done quite a few 109Es in 1/48th, and I have a couple of Eduard overtrees in the stash. Appropriate markings for a pristine JG26 aircraft shouldn't be too hard to find. More shortly. John
  4. Another one for Malta battle, well know ace Münchenberg of JG26 that was engaged in the Malta battle for a short period. Build a lot of these ICM kit that are copies of the Tamiya kit, so no need for drawing cheers Jes
