  1. Hobby Boss is to release in late June 2020 a (ex-Merit) 1/18th Bell UH-1B Huey - ref. 81806 Source: http://www.hobbyboss.com/index.php?g=home&m=article&a=show&id=159&l=en Test model V.P.
  2. UH-1D Huey 116th Assault Helicopter Company, Vietnam '71 There is no doubt that the Huey will always be associated with the Vietnam War. No 'Nam collection should be without at least one of these beautiful workhorses. Employed in many roles and many different variants I have built a pretty standard 'Slick' troop transport. I actually have another 2 of these on the go - both different again, doors removed, no seating inside etc. I also have pretty much all variants in the stash to be built at some stage. I am really looking forward to the Dust Off version. Not too m
  3. Hello everyone , i just finished the Uh-1 from Revell . In 1/24 Scale ! Amazing beast, very huge. Gotta say im very satisfied with the result. Gotta need a bigger place to put it on. The model overall is very nice , good fit. I paint the model with Olive drab color from Mr.Color number 304. And add some White to the mixture to lighten up the model. Decal is the hardest part, but only the shark mouth decal. If you cut the decal in half , it will be better to control it. And the decal on the slide door is tricky, you must apply the decal first then glue the handle on. And the rest is easy.
  4. After the 1/48th kits (link) Kitty Hawk is to release 1/35th Bell UH-1 Huey family of kits - ref. KH50001 Sources: https://tieba.baidu.com/p/6201308633 https://www.facebook.com/groups/369828906819827/permalink/662143230921725/ https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/KH50001 3D renders V.P.
  5. A close look at the Kitty Hawk's messages in a chinese forum concerning the future Mirage 2000 kit ( link ) display, in the signature from the KH representative, a Bell UH-1 Huey CAD. Would be quite logical after the 1/48th AH-1Z Viper ( link ) and UH-1Y Venom ( link ) kits isn't it? Source: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4260567148 V.P.
  6. My newest project is a bit different, maybe not. I have had a 1/24 UH-1B Huey lying around for a few years(bought back when it was $34). I was looking online at forget what, just going further down the rabbit hole. I come across an art project made from an actual UH-1D called Take Me Home Huey. https://takemehomehuey.org/ I'm not American, well I understand my original dad was, but he died before I was born and mum don't talk about it so I don't really know. I have some strange draw to the Vietnam war, I don't know what it is, maybe because I was born a little after the official end of it. Pe
  7. Just one photo for now, will get more up tomorrow night of the sprues etc Will be done as per kit, but with AM decals as the kit ones are bust.. I have a good feeling about finishing this one Huey Hog by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr
  8. This is my Hobby Boss HU-1B Huey "Gunship". The Hobby Boss kit is an easy pleasant build that only took 10 days, start to finish. But it had a little help. In addition to the basic kit I used: A Bilek color interior. I had never heard of Bilek before and I don't know if they have a relationship to Eduard, but it looked just like and Eduard set. Eduard Mask Print Scale decals. I have used Print Scale decals in the past and been happy with them, but this set and the last one I used were problematic to the point of almost being unusable and I will probably stay clear of them in
  9. Hi again all, Inspired by the recent UH-1C RFI I've scanned a few Hueys for your delectation. They are taken at various locations, as marked. I hope you like them. UH-1C/M at Camp Robinson AAF, Arkansas, May 1982 UH-1H at Jefferson City, Missouri, May 1982 UH-1M at Camp Robinson AAF, Arkansas, May 1982 UH-1Hs and UH-1Vs at Dannelly Field, Alabama, October 1980 UH-1V at Forbes Field, Kansas, May 1982 Martin
  10. Hi guys, here are the final pictures for the Rambo 2 diorama. In the movie, Rambo's Huey gets shot up by the Hind and a fire with lots of smoke erupts in the back left side of the heli. I wanted to recreate the smoke, so by using a product for RC boats I was able to achieve the correct look. Obviously I started out only wanting to build the Hind/Puma conversion model, then I realised I had the correct Huey that was in the movie and things just snowballed into this mega giant diorama that is no way going to fit on anybodys shelf LOL! The plan is that I can take the helis off the diorama and tak
  11. A recently-completed pair of Italeri's very build-friendly 1/72 AB-204B/UH-1F, built pretty much out-of-box. The Dutch Navy markings were courtesy of the kit's decal sheet. The Swedish 'air ambulance' markings were based on a photo of a preserved museum aircraft, made up with Internet images and printed as home-made decals from my PC. And my sleek Swedish beauty: A very clean and trouble-free little kit, grea

  13. Picking up the new 1/48 Kitty Hawk UH-1H and would like to do a 1st Air Cavalry version. Not had any luck finding aftermarket decals................any ideas ? Thanks in advance Paul
  14. UH-1D "Huey" 1:48 KittyHawk Lets face it, IT’S A HUEY! The Bell UH-1 Iroquois is the Iconic Helicopter following its use by the American Army in Vietnam. Thanks to this it can now rank alongside such aircraft as the Spitfire and Mustang, and is recognisable by most people not just aviation enthusiasts. The Bell 204 was developed to a 1952 US Army requirement for a medical evacuation helicopter, trainer and utility helicopter. Originally designated as the HU-1 (Helicopter utility) troops quickly shortened this to Huey and it has stuck ever since. While the origina
  15. Hello, I decided on these when the GB was first suggested since then whirlybirds have made life easier and issued an aftermarket set specifically for one of the aircraft I want to build. Not sure when I'll get to start or how much time I'll get but will see how things go. Two builds, in tandem so I'll keep them both here. First up is an Bell 205 used by Bristow helicopters to transport land rigs around Indonesia. Don't have much more info that that at the moment but the decal set is from S&M (SSM72-007 civil choppers) and the kit will be Italeri's UH-1D. second is G-BALZ. AB212
  16. Hello, I would like to present my latest completion. 1/72nd Italeri Ab212 with whirlybirds "G-BALZ" conversion set. Built as part of the Huey group build but I missed the finishing deadline by a couple of days. WIP can be found here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235006740-bristow-birds/&page=1 Also, please check out the gallery for an array of excellent Hueys. Presented as G-BALZ as she was around the late 70s early 80s. Operated by Bristows helicopters around the Brent oil field (Stationed on the Safe Gothia, and probab
  17. Hi all and here's my latest finish, the Vietnam workhorse that was the Huey, built for the Huey GB here on Britmodeller. You can read the WIP here but to recap: UH-1D Slick 116th Assault Helicopter Company - "The Hornets" 1965-1971 Kit: Italeri 1247 UH-1D Iroquois Scale: 1/72 Paints: Revell acrylics, brush painted. Future, Flory Models Wash Decals: Kit Extras: Scratchbuilt door guns mounts; M-60s from spares box. Engine mesh from teabag (!) seat belts from masking tape Thanks for
  18. So resurrecting this one from the back of the bench for this GB...a Vietnam era UH-1D in 'Slick' set up. Had got some small work started on it for last year's Vietnam GB but nothing over the 25% rule - will post some more pics tonight. I've scrounged some M-60s from a Blackhawk in the stash so they will be added to the build. Thanks for looking and here's to a whop-whopping good GB! All the best, Dermot
  19. Hello again, I'd like to participate with this other Huey I'm making. Being an Italeri, my expectations weren't too high (my expectations from my own skills aren't high either). But... Good things of the kit The clear parts were thick and shiny enough not to need polishing. Clears parts fitted perfectly except for a few inconsecuential gaps. The main halves of the fuselage fitted perfectly, along with all major parts. Bad things: Having the doors closed would've required too much work, unnecessarily. A lot of guess
  20. Excuse me, is that an Uzi? Hi guys Finally getting my build up and running. With impending being between jobs starting next week I will have some free time for the first time in as long as I can remember. My build will be the Revell UH-1H Huey (it says on the box) that will be in the Air America scheme. The sprue says UH-1D. The difference between the two is a more powerful engine. The kit is circa 1994 and I recently purchased this off of everyone's favourite auction site. I remember building the kit in my younger days and for an extortionate fee of £3 I fancied a trip down memory lane.
  21. After a few unfortunate delays you can finally Get To Da Choppah!.. Again. With our amazing deal on the Revell Bell UH-1 Huey Helicopter Model Kit! You can also find more great Revell Model Kits in the Revell Sale on our Website!
  22. Ok so I have decided I am going to build another whirly thing for the group build and I am going to build the Revell 1/72 UH-1D that I was going to add to the stash, this will be being built as the hospital version with all the stretchers etc. I certainly do like my Hi-Vis schemes! I was going to use parts from an etch set I had in the stash hence its appearance in the photo but I have since decided to hold on to the etch for a "slick" build in the future. Obligatory box and sprue shots:
  23. Hi! Here's my 1/72 scale Huey Gunship It is built OOB, and painted using Gunze colors. Best regards Rune Haugen Norway
