Morning folk's,built for the Mustang GB I thought as Lou IV is being built exactly as it should be by others taking part mine would be based on a restored Warbird in the colours we'd really like to think she was in,all brush painted and the rear cockpit removed for the second seat for the paying passengers! Greetings! After a disappointing Panzer II (build No 1 - EVER) followed by a so-so Panzer IV (build No 2), I've now started Build Number Three. Yep, third build ever. So, being a masochist I thought I'd leave those oh-so crisp Tamiyas behind and try a HobbyBoss Panzer I. I like a challenge. So, box open and found many, many parts. Some so small I can't actually see them. And every track link is separate. Joy! Moulding is REALLY detailed but not quite as sharp as Tamiya perhaps. So started building out of sequence with the destructions just for a larf. Kit has full interior so I thought I'd have some fun with it to try some techniques out. Shame it will be 90% covered up when the full Panzer is built but then, if it all goes pair-shaped, it will not be too embarrassing. So, onwards. Built up the hull interior first just to see what it is like. The parts are small and fit tolerance is mighty tight. Quite. Many parts cover over others which all seems a bit pointless but what the hell. Interior built with gearbox and basic engine lump. So it was time to have fun with HAIRSPRAY. So I borrowed some from the ladies of the house to spray over a base dunkelgrau colour then plenty of loverly ivory (criemweiss) over the top - but with green for the gearbox. Not sure if its completely correct but then we can argue the toss over a beer and we'll all be drunk before we agree what is actually right. Then on to chipping. It worked! Woohoo. High fives all round. Interior finished off with a bit of pigment for added filth. Cool. Just love that hairspray. Could always be better but it you never forget your first time....... And its a Panzer I so its smaller than a gnats navel. Oh, and I wont mention the missing flag rack if you don't. Test fit of the gearbox and engine. They just fit. And I mean just. There is so much detail. I know its there cos its in the pics but it will soon be covered up. Engine bay finished and side parts on. They will be finished off when the upper hull interior is done. Time to make tracks. Pun very much intended. I quickly made up the wheels, added a base dunkelgrau and fitted them with blutac. Already I can see the wheels are not quite square but that probably can be fixed/wont be noticeable anyway. I measured the flat run between the wheels for the first track parts. Before you can say Robert's your Aunties live-in lover its there! Sweet. (BTW, the wood is to ensure alignment and press the links down.) That's as far as I've got. Will probably finish the complete track on the left hand side to see how it goes. Or doesn't. Or have a beer. Or both.

Hello everyone. It’s a scooter. With my model bench now being clear, it’s time to look at something else , and this is one of two kits that will be filling the space. Back around 2018 I think this kit came out, when we could go to model shows, this kit was all the rage on our club stand. Was it pent up demand or the cracking price one trader was offering it for? FAUX PAS Pt I. One of our club member hasn’t been modelling for some time, and “Amos” was heard to say : look what you’re getting for £21 an easy build and lots of weapons. (Lordy-Lordy) FAUX PAS Pt II. Some time later,( 2019) one club night, one of our club members got talking....and then suggested we have a club build, and I got talked into it against my better thoughts. It had taken me close to 2yrs to build my first Airfix Shackleton, I was well into my second Shackleton and thought two kits end on it would have taken me less time. Only to be expected , firstly the Scooter would get bogged down, secondly it was as I’d suspected, a massive distraction. The Shackleton got done just in time for S.M.W 2019. This model may well be poorly received. THE MAN WITH A PLAN. My modelling for 2020 has been very patchy, my Airfix 1/72 TSR2 got bogged down, then my pick me up G.W.H 1/144 TSR2 got bogged down too. As we know Dec 2020 it was announced that a Covid-19 vaccine was to be rolled out. At the same time I was in my garage come model shop, I fancied a fondle of the kit, witch led me spending a little time with it. This time around saw me boxing off all of the problems areas. Now the model was ready to go, when I would pick it back up again I could just run with it. Now with a Covid-19 vaccine, this meant that I’m going to need some new models for 2021. The plan, three models, 1) G.W.H 1/144 TSR2 (it’s done) 2) this build 3) THAT Airfix 1/72 TSR2. Becouse this model is not very well received I’ll have to do a comparison, for those modellers that may not have read up on it. Hasegawa. Pros: Regarded as an accurate form and very good detail. All (most)photos show the slats down. Most variants catered for. (But, why not the OA-4M, it’s a modellers must have.) Cons: Hard to come by. Not an easy build (from experience). No weapons. Not to expensive, no bargains , add in weapons and you’ll be looking at £60. Hobby Boss Pros: Readily available. Can be picked up for as little as £21 - £22 Fewer parts. Many weapons . Most variants. Still no OA-4M Cons: Those slats - strangely not given. (The build so far) Not an easy build. All those weapons - best give them a wide birth. Would you believe it, lots of parts missing, can’t make a M out of the box. As I’ve already built a Hasegawa kit , the Hobby Boss kit had its plus points, so you don’t see very often a Scooter with the slats up: Whilst not a new project, I’m hoping to keep it moving along. As my Sea Kings are nearing completion, believe it or not I thought I'd add another in this Lynx. I've a couple of Hobbyboss boxings in the stash and may follow up with a HAS 2 but this one has transfers for a Black Cats airframe. The Black Cats were the FAA Lynx display team and they did things with a small helicopter that you didn't think was possible including a loop. The paintwork is complex and although I've got some aftermarket transfers in the stash to do one of the Black Cats, Hobbyboss include it as an option here.

Dear fellow Modellers, I offer this Ready For Inspection.. My second P47D this year.! This is the Hobbyboss kit which I added a few spare parts from the Tamiya kit I didn't use I the previous build. The retracted flap gear, the rocket pods and the decals. There are a couple of details I might add like the 'no step' red warning panels on the wings ( which i added this morning after i posted these pics). But basically its finished.

Hi folk,s let me take you back to those halcyon days of U.S.Naval aviation before Pearl Harbour and the first period of toned down schemes. Hobbyboss easy kits tend to be overlooked by many but for a quick ready to paint build they can be great fun and at around a fiver you are paying a lot less for some of their inaccuracies than their larger kits! Encouraged by all the great comments I received for my Komet I'd now like to show you the Ta152c I completed at the back end of last year. Its the Hobbyboss kit, which my mate Parabat kindly bought me so I really wanted to do it justice. The kit as anyone knows who is interested is not with out it's faults but luckily all of these can be addressed with various after market sets, and these are what I used, Quickboost exhausts, Quickboost prop and spinner, Quickboost corrected cowling, Eduard BigEd which included the flaps, Ultracast seat, Ultracast wheels, The lower wing as the wrong inspection flaps so these were filled and re scribed in the correct position, I gave it a full rivet job, split and turned the tail wheel and dropped the rear control surfaces, filled in the gaps that the kit as where the upper wing wheel wells meet the fuse and made up a rear bulk head so you can't see into the cockpit! made up the barrels and pitot out of brass tube. All the markings are done with Mal's Masks, and the weathering done with oils. The prominent chipping on the under side of the engine cowl as seen in the many photos of this particular aircraft, was done with AK worn effects, as was the wear on the wings. The one thing I did forget to add was the tail wheel retraction wire on the starboard u/c leg. Hope you like it. A few in progress pics, Tim.
