  1. Large Brush and Tool Holder HobbyZone Poland As modellers we almost all seem to accumulate more tools than we know what to do with, and certainly more than we can store tidily next to our work areas. Some nice Polish people with "mad skillz" in working with wood and MDF have probably come to the same conclusion, only they decided to do something proactive, rather than purchasing off-the-shelf stuff from Ikea. The result is a range of attractive, useful and ergonomic modular units that are supplied flat-packed for simple construction by the modeller. A task that we should all be capable of, given our hobby. Each set required the ability to follow instructions (check!), some tape (check!) and a little wood glue (errrr…. Check?). With those simple tools in hand, you can achieve wonders with the assistance of your tape measure to help you design your layout relative to your work area. The Large Brush and Tool Holder is rather a big unit, and can hold a plethora of circular tools (brushes, files etc.) in sections at either end, with an additional rectangular area for outsize tools, and a rod running across the front for tweezers, clamps etc. Under that is a small flat stowage area for the small thing that don't fit well in the other areas. The instructions are pictorial and easy to follow, with only one area where you have to take care to get the right parts, or your brush holders won't look nice or work properly. The key is to get the white side uppermost and pair up the parts before you get the glue involved. The front has a small raised rim to stop things from escaping, but this has small holes drilled into the top, which could be used for drill bits or Dremel mandrels if you possess such a thing. Once completed and dry, you can either leave it desk-standing, or mount it on the wall using a pair of dome-head screws (not supplied) through the holes in the back portion. It might be an idea to add some sticky Velcro behind the unit in case you bash into it from below and lift it off its screws. No-one likes to pick up hundreds of small tools and have to remember where to put them. Conclusion This is a super system, and the other units use embedded magnets to keep them together, which gives you flexibility to change your layout as your circumstances dictate. Plonk your Brush & Tool Holder next to your work area, and you'll have them all to hand, with no more fishing around in drawers, jam jars or any other sub-optimal storage solution you've concocted. At 42 cm x 14 cm x 10 cm it should hold plenty of tools, enough for the most avid collector. Highly recommended, but check out the rest of the units before you hit the checkout, as you're bound to want more! Review sample courtesy of
