Hello everyone! This it is my recently finished He 111H-16 (German bomber), scale 1/48. The ICM kit (No48263) it was pretty good I can say. The model is brush painted and the colors used were a mix of Tamiya and Vallejo Model Air. Marking: He 111H-16, 5./KG 4, Eastern Front, Winter 1942-1943. Small description from the instructions: In the beginning of 30s It was appeared in the world an idea of high-speed bomber that could outstrip contemporary fighters. One of the objectifications of this conception became the twin-engine bomber He 111 designed by German Heinkel Flugzeugwerke AG company. Since the December of 1942 it were produced He 111H-16 planes with liquid-cooled Jumo 211F-2 engines of increased power, with VS wooden wider horde propellers and more powerful armament. This variant could carry up to 3000 kg bombs internally and externally, The He 111H-16 was the last mass produced variant of Heinkel's medium bomber. It were produced approximately 1155 aircraft up to the end of 1943. He 111H-16s saw service on all fronts as night bombers, transports and glider tugs. I hope you like it and thanks for watching!

Hi everyone. I have recently started building the Heinkel He 111 H6 by Airfix, and have now reached the stage to paint the camouflage pattern. I recently watched the film 'Dunkirk', and the colours on the Heinkel there look really nice to me, so googled it and found this image: I know a scale model was used in filming, and i dug up these images as well, which may give a better view: Can someone please have a rough guess at what these colours are? I would prefer answers in the revell email colour spectrum, as i mostly paint in with these, but humbrol would be fine too. I have done a little research, and i think people say the closest equivalents are RLM 70 and RLM 71, but different paint converters give different conversions, and im finding it hard to decode what is the closest colours to RLM 70 and 71. For example, The Ultimate Model Paint Conversion Chart puts RLM 70 as greenish grey matt (67) and RLM 71 as bronze green matt (65) (both in revell colours), but others say RLM 70 is black green (40), and RLM 71 is dark green (39). Do you think that those are close representations of the colour of the plane? If not, i would really appreciate it if you give your opinions on what is the closest approximation to these colours. Im not too bothered about historical accuracy and the like, so feel free to give complete opinions! Many thanks, TheCore2030

Hi In the Airfix P-51D Mustang 1/72, do the yellow strips on the wings mean that it's a trainer? Same with the Airfix Heinkel He 111 H-20 1/72, with the yellow band and tips on the underside of the wings.

Hi, Some of you may have seen this at model shows on our club stand. I thought I'd post here as well. Not your typical aircraft build but as I'm not known for my aircraft, more for rusted vehicles, it was great to build an aircraft and put my own spin on it. I was looking to do a crashed plane, but after a search of the inter web, I came across a series of photos from the "Deutsches Museum" of a Heinkel HE 111 being restored, and so the idea for this build was formed... Hello everyone, this is my first WIP here on Britmodeller, and a first serious build in years, so let's see how this goes.. :] I recently got myself an airbrush and had been trying it out on a discarded 1/32 Revell SBD-3 Dauntless just to be sure I have some idea about what I'm doing.. Also, I have little to none experience in washes and some other things, so this build will have a lots of first! Here goes.. Cockpit is assembled and painted a first coat.. After that the seat was added and small details painted.. I was interested to see how seatbelts will work so I made them out of masking tape..a little bit of detail is still needed, but that's good enough for now.. As I said, I have almost no experience with washes, so I wasn't sure how this will turn out..I started with the interior which will not be as visible as the cockpit.. I used black acrylic paint thinned with water and a soft brush to apply it.. Picture without wash is first, and the one with wash is second.. After that little struggle and a moment of 'Oh no what did I do' I used the new experience to carefully apply washes to cockpit.. I'm quite happy with how it turned out, probably because I was much more careful this time.. All in all, I think I'll use airbrush with slightly darker color next time for most of my interior shading.. You can also notice I didn't pay much attention to bomb bay when it comes to painting bombs and washes 'cause it almost won't be visible at all.. Oh, and the seatbelts still need a bit of work, though.. That's all for now, I'll post more as I progress, your thoughts and advices are welcome! :]
