  1. Hi Comrades! Here is my recently finished Heinkel-111. It's old but good Monogram kit (Revell boxing) with Eduard brass, mix of Kagero and Peddinghaus decals, national insignia painted with Montex masks. The main issue of the Monogram kit is inappropriate gondola configuration with blind forward end. I ignored it, sorry. After completing the model, I ordered ICM kit of H-20 and found a great additional clear part for the gondola - so sad for me... Unneeded Lofte gunsight window was faired over, some other modifications made to the undercarriage. I was unable to find the photo of the prototype, but always wanted this one - now I have it! Here are some pictures of interior (brass+scratch) And the complete model Hope You like it and thanks for looking!
  2. Hi! Is it possible that some He-111Hs were intended for desert use and received factory camouflage of RLM 79 instead of standard RLM 70/71? Thanks in advance
  3. *Now finished* - RFI: Half way through but is anyone interested in seeing the remainder of this? It's been on the go for months and has been a of a build...
  4. Hey guys, So i'm working up to a build here for when I get back, I'm gonna do the Revellgawa 1/72 He-111 H6. I wanted to do something a bit different so I got the Xtradecal set for it, annoyingly, for the scheme I want to do there's no paint guides and I can't find anything online. I was wondering if you guys could give help? That is the old kite I want to do. I am totally fine just winging it with some artistic license on the top surfaces of the wings but if anyone knows of any decent reference photos I would really appreciate the help! Cheers
  5. Gentlemen and Ladies. May I present you with my take on Hasegawa's Heinkel He-111P2 from KG55. She's OOB with a few very small scratch built bits in the cockpit and on the outside. The paints are a halfords rattle can primer, citadel nuln oil wash for the preshading, Vallejo model color for the camouflage and citadel satin for the top coat. Everything apart from the primer and varnish was applied with a hairy stick and this was my first attempt at preshading with a brush, inspired by my friend Stix. The build has been fun most of the time, although I had some real issues with the under carriage and I'm really annoyed that I missed the internal framing on the canopy before I closed it up. There's a WIP thread here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234956005-hasegawa-he-111p-172-finished/ You'll notice that the tail has been slightly doctored. The kit provides swastikas but, as I explain in the WIP my girlfriend's grandmother was an Austrian Jew whose entire family were murdered by the Nazis during the war and at her request I don't display swastikas in our home. So, without further ado, here she is. I'm generally pleased with how she came out bit as always, criticism and suggestions are actively encouraged. Damn you photobucket! Thanks for watching. Richard
  6. I've finally completed my He-111, hope you enjoy the photo's Comments always welcome, Thanks for looking, Colin
  7. I am currently working on Monogram's 1/48 HE-111, backdating to an early H-2, from the Battle of Britain. I'm using Lion Roar belts, Mike Grant inst. decals, Griffon photoetch gunsites, and Koster's resin HE-111 "early exhaust's", all else is scratch built. I've scratch built a radio compartment interior, based on photos and plans in Aero Detail #18, and added details in the cockpit. Opened up the sliding panel for access to the bombsite, scratch built a new pilots inst. panel (the kit on is wrong - it's for an H-20) and opened the sliding roof hatch and pop up windshield. Since the sliding panel is open, I've had to scratch build a Lofte 7d bombsite (upper right, below) The engines also require some work, I've extended the supercharger intakes, oil cooler intakes and exhaust, and made screens and coolers out of fine mesh. The rad intakes required reprofiling (for some reason Monogram made them square and sharp edged) and made rads out of fine mesh and stretched sprue, and the lower cowl also needed reprofiling (also square for some reason) unmodified on right: Still lots of work to do, but it's starting to look like a 111. Thanks for looking, Colin
  8. I bought this kit a while back when i saw it in the LHS for much lower than retail because it had ever so slight box damage. Now that I have finished off most everything else on my bench, I thought that i could get a start on it. I didnt realize until I opened up the box just how big it really was. The fuselage halves are each bigger than any model i've ever built. This could be an interesting introduction th 1:32 scale modeling... I plan on doing it copletely OOB with the scheme on the front of the box. The first update will be coming soon.
