Hi all The latest build is off the block and into the cabinet temporarily un-based as i start on the next phase which is making a bombed out 1944 Argentan street-looking forward to that part! Tamiya's 1/48 Pather D (the panther in Argentan wasn't a D but its what i had so a bit of artistic licence!) with a lot of aftermarket chucked at it. Haulers photo etch set and fruli metal tracks- bit of a luxury in 1/48 scale and with the metal hull in the kit gives it some heft. I'm still surprised when i pick it up how much it weighs! First time using metal tracks but pleased with how they came out, got the brownish look i was after and i had a go at making my own zimmerit. I used milliput, rolled out really thin and then a metal file to stamp in the patter and then the back of a hobby knife to draw the lines. I struggled to get the milliput thin enough so it looks a bit spongy in places and my attempt to draw straight lines is laughable but hey ho! What else can i tell you, a few shell impacts on the front plate and a bit of plaster mixed with lifecolour dust acrylics for the thick dust on the wheels which turned out alright i think. More rubble and dust to be added once its ready to sit amongst the carnage. Thanks for looking

Hi all, I thought i'd share my latest project with you all which is this. I'll also be using the Hauler p/e set to replace various parts. First things to go were the running boards. Which were replaced with p/e ones. Also I cut off the moulded on detail off the bonnet and replaced that with p/e. The plastic steps on the rear mud guards, tool clips and number plates were also binned to make way for p/e ones. The hand cranks were made up with brass rod and tube. At the front end I used brass rod for the width indicators, added some wiring to the lights and used a p/e number plate. In the cab p/e was added to the floor along with the peddles and dash board. I admit to knowing little about the SS-100 apart from I like the look of it! There is more to be added to the cab but i'm going to paint up the interior first or i'll just knock everything off whilst doing so. One last pic of the bonnet side. More to follow, Tim.

Hi all, this is my Gaz MM, I used the Hauler p/e set with it which includes the mud guards, rear window frames, dash board, wood saw and dash board etc. As this is modelled as one captured, in this case by the Luftwaffe I've added a German licence plate and used a mask to spray a Balkenkruez on the roof. For the weathering I've used oils, various Wilder filters, Wilder textured mud and Wilder pigments, all of which I found to be excellent. Build thread of sorts here http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234980273-148-tamiya-gaz-mm/ It could stand a little more weathering I think but that can be done when I get myself into gear and knock up some sort of base to put it on. The barrels are from Black Dog and the stand from Smokey Bottom. Comments welcome. Tim.

I thought I'd share a few pics I took whilst I was building this over the Christmas holiday, what a great little kit to which I added the Hauler p/e set available for it. Started of removing the plastic mud guards and replacing them with the p/e ones out of the set. These were soldered together. Then fixed onto the chassis with CA, I also added some nuts to the leave spring mountings, made from punched Evergreen. Included in the set is this saw, made up from 3 parts, again soldered. I added some timber frame work to the inside of the cab. Also cut out and added the small window at the rear. A quick dry fit to make sure everything was ok fit wise. Time for some paint. Primer layer on cab. Wood, primer, black chipped. The mud guards still in primer plus areas of rust added. Next up the wooden body. Over view of sub assemblies. Russian green added and chipped/worn away. Next up weathering. Comments welcome. Tim.
