  1. Another stripey jet completed & ready show... This is another scheme that I've really wanted to do. So after a couple of years enquiring & looking I found that JBR decals on facebook. They had re-released this decal sheet at the end of June. Looked like his run of 1/72 decals were really popular as they've already sold out. Nicely laser printed tail fin & canard markings & the fuselage & wing markings are screen printed. Very thin, but with some patience went down very nicely. Revell 1/72 Saab JAS-39C 9234 JBR Decals "100 Years of the Czech Air Force
  2. JAS-39 Gripen | 1/72 | Revell F10 Wing Ängelholm, Swedish Air Force 1999 Finished 3/28/2020. I'm back after a few months absence. I didn't model for a couple months because I just couldn't get into it. I love the Gripen -- While it's basically the same thing as the Rafael and the Eurofighter Typhoon, I think it looks the most elegant of the three. I've had this kit in the stash for a long time -- the copyright date on the instructions is 2000, which must've been when I got it because I had a 15 year hiatus starting in 2001. This kit was terrific. Well designed a
  3. In 2020 Kovozávody Prostějov (KP) is to rebox the 1/72nd Italeri Saab JAS 39 Gripen kits. 4. Here are a couple of photos of my Italeri 1/48th Saab JAS-39A Gripen. I haven't been spending much time on it lately, maybe a few minutes every couple of days painting something on the seat or the cockpit. Finally got to where I could put the big parts together. I'll add a little filler along some of the seams, but overall it went together pretty well. Easier than the Revell Eurofighter Typhoon. I plan on painting it up as a Swedish line jet with kit decals. Planned on straight out of the box but the long nose pitot is broken on the sprue, so I'll replace it with a blunted ne
  5. Hello all! I have been browsing Britmodeller for a couple of years while I was gathering up my modern European jet kits. I have been building mostly 1/48th USAF kits but the European jets are so cool looking and I have some history with a couple. Got the Draken, Gripen, Typhoon, Rafale, Mirage 2000, and a couple of Tornados (IDS and ADV) lined up to build. I started with the Revell Germany 1/48th Eurofighter Typhoon and got to the painting stage when I broke the canopy in half trying to get the mold line off. Revell did send me a replacement but I did not get back to it yet. Whil
  6. JAS-39D upgrade sets for Revell kit 1:72 Eduard Whilst not quite as prolific as they once were, Revell are still capable of producing fine kits. Their recent JAS-39C/D Gripen is one such example. Now, just as Revell followed the release of their JAS-39C with the two-seater D model, Eduard have released a set of photo etched parts for the trainer variant. In usual Eduard style, the first set is divided into two frets. The first is a self-adhesive, pre-paint
  7. Revell Saab JAS-39C is released now. But the test builders already have a double seat trainer variant JAS-39D: http://modelforum.cz/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=90083&p=1680379&hilit=gripen#p1680396 JAS-39D cockpit: http://modelforum.cz/download/file.php?id=1036328 When will be released?

  9. Kittyhawks amazing scale 48 Gripen It has been written a lot about Kittyhawks Gripen kit. Unfortunately, also of a lot of negative by which a wrong picture originates from this, actually, nice kit. One finds a really good one and one of the best Reviews I could explore, here: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234941002-jas-39ac-gripen-148-kitty-hawk/?hl=%2Bsaab+%2Bgripen+%2Bkittyhawk It is a kit of the new generation, with the quite normal positive and negative points like all other new kits also. In the construction report I will mention the really relevant small mistakes
  10. Hello Gents, I’d like to hear Your thoughts and maybe even some help on building Swedish SAAB JAS-39 Gripen. First things first. Sorry for my English. It’s not my native language, but I’ll try my best. The aircraft I’d like to build is more known as a Gripen Demonstrator (picture bellow). If I understood correctly it's NG version. So, the here comes the questions: What are the major differences from version B/D? Is it requires a lot of rework and modifications? I can’t find good pictures of twin seater cockpit. Where can I get Meteor missiles? Cause at the moment it seems like only Revel
  11. JAS-39 Gripen Wheels - For The Revell Kit 1:72 Eduard Brassin This set from Eduard in their brassin range is a direct replacement for the kit wheel. These are well moulded on small pour blocks and should enhance the look of your kit. The set also inclused a set of wheel masks to help paint the wheels correctly Conclusion Wheels can be one area which let a kit down, in a lot of cases these resin replacements can make a difference, this is helped by the masks to paint them. Recomended. Review samples courtesy of
  12. Source: http://www.themodellingnews.com/2014/09/the-griffon-with-two-heads-two-seater.html#more The Kitty Hawk's two seater 1/48th Saab JAS-39 B/D Gripen kit is expected before Christmas 2014- ref.KH80118. 13. Revell is to release a 1/72nd new tool Saab JAS-39C Gripen kit - ref.04999. A test shot & build is here: http://www.plastik-modellbau.org/blog/dpmv-galerie-erster-testshot-der-saab-jas-39-c-gripen-von-revell-im-massstab-172/2014/ V.P.
  14. The UK Empire Test Pilot School uses a single SAAB Gripen apparently to train pilots.... The airplane has a blue vertical stabilizer, with a gold griffin or lion above the initials ETPS... Can anyone tell me if the symbol represents the type of airplane... or the school...? Thanks....
  15. Here's my attempt at Italeri's 1/48 Gripen, Not bad kit, simple cockpit that wous souped up with ED PE. All the rest is as it arrives in the box. I took the liberty and did the fuel tank in tiger scheme as I've seen pix of czech Gripens with it and it adds just that bit of colour to the "boring" gray scheme. So enough babbling here she goes.. I know it's missing the nose pitot. We just got back from the annuals here and pitot was the only casualty. So will get to creating one in the future.
  16. Hi all Can anyone steer me towards a few more pics of Saab Gripens in the initial early scheme like this A Google search didn't bring up many. I'm not after many, just a few to guide me through the painting process, the Airfix instructions are not the best Cheers Chris
  17. I thought I would build this before the Revell new tool comes out and makes it redundant and liable to languish in the stash for ever! Its built straight oob with the kit decals which were great. Thanks for looking!
