  1. I scanned one of these a few weeks ago so I thought I may as well scan the others from this display at Fairford, 1997:
  2. Hi all, A few quick edits to give you the flavour of the day yesterday at the western end of Fairford's rather long runway! It was my first time, being an "Easterner" until now. The weather was okay, albeit a little cloudy at the start. It picked up as time went on, though. For me Departure's day's attraction is being able to photograph all attending aircraft and seeing them in a more natural configuration, often very well tanked up :). As many that went know the much anticipated departure of the LanceRs fell flat with a reasonably high early morning departure in the gloom that offered little scope for photography. There was a lot of opportunity for different angles. As the day went on things picked up On the weather front and it ended up as a very enjoyable day. So, here goes, in order of the day.... I hope you like them. Martin
  3. Afternoon all, During these long dark Winter months, I like to take the time to look back over the years photogrpahic efforts, and thought I'd share a few from my favourite week of the year. For the first time I spent fiove days at Fairford for RIAT, attending everyday except the Friday. Firstly Wednesday, when many of the star items arrived, most notably the Fitters, which would prove to be my aboslute highlight of the show, and probably the season. I was also presented with my first and last opportunity to shoot an A-7 in the air. Turned out to be one of the most exhillirating viewing experiences of a show i've ever had. 4. Hi there I wanted to try something a little different with the photos I took at Fairford. While on holiday, I started to have a play around with Windows Moviemaker and used it to create an animated slideshow of my favourite pictures. The finished film - complete with AC/DC soundtrack (switch on your PC speakers!) - can be viewed on YouTube. Click on the link below: Or search on YouTube for RIAT 2012 rocks to AC/DC. All aerial shots were taken with a Nikon F4 300mm lens. For the first time I managed to get some crossover shots of the Breitling display team and the Red Arrows. Cheers Richard C
