  4. Yesterday I received such a marvel from the company "Fly", so quickly took photos of what is inside the box. So it flies in for a quick test workshop. The "Fly" company has released the Breguat in three boxes, but I will try to write more about them later. My model will be in Polish painting. And this is what it looks like ready with the decals for all three boxes. Thank you to the company 'Fly' for the model received for review.
  5. Hi all I have been working on this one for a while and am chuffed to get it finished finally. The kit is the Fly 3nd scale kit, there is some lovely detail on the kit , but it's not the easiest kit, but mostly enjoyable, with only a couple of mojo sapping moments. I have added some extra cockpit details from PE spares and scratch and have also added the extra aerials underneath. I used the vacform sliding section of the canopy but ruined the windscreen so used the injection moulded one instead. The undercarriage doors were clipped to avoid snagging the arrestor wired and I think I have cut a bit too much off but I could only find one image and it was nearly head on . The model is brush painted with Humbrol enamels and the kit decals were used for an 824 Squadron machine NF694, code U on HMS Striker in 1944, flown by Sub Lt.P.A.Clark. Here's a link to the WIP if interested I would like to thank all that followed and offered support and encouragement and also to @Troy Smith, who offered help and advice and posted some great photos as there is not too much in the way of reference around. The kit's cockpit with added PE bits and pipework and some scratched bits Thanks for looking in Chris

  14. Whenever you were around airshows in the 80s there would be a Jet Provost somewhere. Rarely the star but always around. To be honest I really intended to do a T5 but spotted this Fly T4 kit. Now most T4s were gone by the 80s, but not at RAF Shawbury. They carried on in glorious red & white until 89. The kit doesn’t include that scheme, but does include XR673 in her retired grey scheme, so a little switching about of decals an she was backdated. Also had her extra under wing ariels added from her Shawbury days. Got her out in a little sunshine today And with my other two red & white jets - Chippie still to come Thanks for looking!
  15. I have to brag because I still have a brand new 1:32 scale SAAB J 29 B "Tunnan" from FLY 32023. FLY has released "Tunnan" in B and F versions and I managed to get both of them and both will be shown here. For this model FLY has also released masks to paint cabins (artm32011) and wheels (artm32014) which I also have. This is a quick in-box of the kit. I will do rest of in-boox pictures as soon as I have some time.

  17. Building the Fly Arado Ar 234 in 1/32 Scale Build Guide Series No.5 KLP Publishing KLP Publishing are extending their reach in digital publishing of guides for modellers. Mainly dealing with the larger scale 1/32 models. In this new 154 page e-book modeller Kent Karlson brings us not one but two builds of the Fly Models Arado Ar 234. The first features an aircraft post surrender in Denmark and Kent has gone to town with the aftermarket on this one. For the second build he converts the kit to the V6 four engined prototype. Conclusion This is the type of publication that the new digital format is made for. If you want a book for a specific build having a digital publication saves you space on your bookshelves. This is clearly a book written by modellers for modellers. The text is clear and concise and the great selection of crisp pictures is welcome. Highly recommended. Review sample courtesy of

  23. Garden shot with stand photoshopped out. A bit of a vid to show sensor activation, runs for 30 seconds (adjustable). Supplies 6v for motors and lights. The same stand as used on an Argosy build from last year. Bit messy I know, I’m not sure what angle the rotorshaft should be tilting forward but it seems about right. The main rotor is driven via a 6v 200rpm motor gear box.. I think I remember the real thing was about 230 - 240 rpm. The rotor head isn’t fixed to the shaft (although it goes through it) but has a slipping clutch effect on the collar shown, which is fixed. It takes about 15 seconds for the rotor head to catch up with the shaft. (The nuts shown aren’t used) I did it like this because I didn’t want a high speed motor running away with it’s self and difficult to keep it slower and steady speed. But then the problem with the slower geared rotation was too much torque which would go from 0 - 200 rpm in less than a second which would either rip the blades off or rip the body apart. The tail rotor spins at about 1000rpm but is so light I just used the same motor as in my Argosy. IR jammer, as close to what I can remember when I was on 72sqn in the mid 90s
