  1. Belgian F-16s - part of a NATO deployment of Vipers from Belgium, Denmark and the Netherlands participating in the Red Flag 84-4 large force exercise, Nellis AFB, June 1984. 80-3548, FA-57 80-3552, FA-61 80-3555, FA-64 80-3594, FB-19 Thanks for looking, Sven Old Viper Tester
  2. Hello, This is a P-47D with Brazilian Air Force WW2 colors. The newly established Brazilian Air Force (1941) sent the 1st Fighter Group as part of an Expeditionary Force, operating under US Forces in Italy, from mid 1944 until the end of hostilities in Europe. Since the allies had already air superiority in the area, these birds were mainly engaged in interdiction missions, initially operating from Tarquinia airfield, and moving north eventually. German anti aircraft fire was still very effective, and some pilots were KIA and a few became POW. Yet, they destroyed a lot of targets during their brief campaign. As for the kit, no need to say anything else about Tamiya’s P-47 kits, they’re just perfect. Decals were FCM, a Brazilian brand which sometimes may pose some problems regarding silvering, so careful sanding and preparation before them is a must. Also used Eduard canopy masks and cockpit PE, and metal guns/pitot tube from Master Models. The airfields they operated from were almost always very muddy, as my references pictures show, so I’ve decided to go kind of heavy regarding weathering and/or dirt. Hope you enjoy! Cheers
  3. While taking a break from scratching the Hudson Bomb Bay, I started 2 new projects, a Brewster Buffalo in USAAF Markings (Australia 1944) and this one, a Monogram F4B4 as a Boeing 256 of the FAB. Thankfully, no obvious conversion was needed, so I simply assembled the kit and got to painting. I'm looking forward to doing a Thai Air Force F4B next. Hopefully, the finished model will look like this: Currently, it looks like this: I apologize for the poor photo: MM Russian Armor Green is curiously hard to photograph. Tomorrow, I will try to get outdoors to take a better one if the weather holds. The Engine is done and ready to attach, but first I need to finish painting the pilot and then attach the upper fuselage around him. Finally, I will need to source some Brazilian Roundels. I might just buy an FCM P-40 Sheet and a P-40 as well, for a stablemate. Perhaps a P-36 could even appear if I can get the old Monogram or Revell kit for cheap. That's all for now, Tweener
