T-55 Tank D-10T 100mm Barrel D:Vision Miniature In association with Part of the D:Toys empire, D:Vision is a new one on me, so I thought it worthwhile checking out their products. This is a replacement turned aluminium barrel for T-55 tanks in 1:35, so is therefore suitable for the Tamiya kits of the "vanilla" T-55 and their newer ENIGMA up-armoured edition, as well as the Trumpeter kits, which although cheaper than the Tamiya offerings are inferior in terms of detail and accuracy out of the box. Supplied in a Ziplok bag on a thick black header-card, the barrel is crisply turned, has a hollow end, with an impression of the rifling inside the barrel, extending some 3mm down the barrel, which is as far as the eye can see once the barrel is painted. There is a sizeable attachment pin to the rear of the barrel, so once glued with super glue, I doubt it would move unless subjected to some serious force. As usual with metal parts on kits, a slight scuffing with a sanding stick or wire wool will improve paint adhesion.
