  1. Im building Sally B in 1/32. Does anyone have any photos of the area behind the seats , bomb bay and radio room. Im pretty sure theres not alot in them! Cheers
  2. Evening all, Here's a selection of images from a terrific show at Duxford on Saturday. Arguably a finer line up than Legends, it was a truly superb way to see out my airshow season. Conditions were tricky for photography with flat light throughout most of the day, with the sun only making an appearance after the flying had ceased, as is so often the way! As a result, the images aren't the most exciting in the world, but hopefully of interest nevertheless. 3. Five shots from Duxford in 2014, one in France on the way to La Ferte Alais and the last at Shoreham. I hope you like them. Martin
  4. Some time back I saw a photo of Hurricane P3707, NN-A from 310 (Czech) Squadron RAF following a mid air collision on 29/10/40 between F/L Josef Maly and P/O E Fechtner. I'm looking to model P3707 after it crash landed, however despite googling I can only find a low res online from Hurricane Squadrons In Focus. Does anyone have a link to the photo online to save me buying the book for one photo? TIA
  5. So i just got a Nikon D3300 and would like to do some (very) amateur airshow photography with it. I dont really have much money to spend and accept this is hardly enough to get a decent Lense but i was wondering if either of these lenses would work: Nikon 55-200mm VR - I know 200mm isn't widely considered enough, but with a crop sensor would it be enough for airshows at Duxford and Headcorn where the planes are fairly close? Sigma 70-300mm APO - I have heard the image quality is decent but the autofocus is a bit rubbish. has anyone had any success with this lense? I have looked at the Nikko
  6. Evening all, There's plenty of folk who've been ahead of me with this so will spare on the details. Just wanted to share my rendition of the new tool 1/48 Spitfire Mk.Vb, built straight out of the box with the markings for the restored aircraft from the Historic Aircraft Collection at Duxford. As its a restored aircraft I've applied almost no weathering as all the pics I've looked at seem to show the aircraft being kept in a very clean condition. Only thing the eagle-eyed among you will notice is I'm missing the rear view mirror.....blame the carpet monster! Will be fabricating a replacement
  7. Well, I originally went to see the two Lancasters but the B727 was top draw, so much so I had to edit these before the Lanc photos.. It did a number of passes etc... which was a superb sight to see! 8. Hey guys, I've been in a bit of a quandry recently about which air show to attend. I would normally visit the RIAT but a combination of ticket price and so-so line up left me reluctant to part with the cash. As a result I have just booked my tickets for the Flying Legends show on the Saturday and I must say I'm really looking forward to it. However, I've never been to Duxford so my question is: What tips/advice can you offer for getting the most out of the day? I would really appreciate any input so thanks in advance for any contributions.. Cheers, Sean
  9. Do NOT watch this on your fone. BIG screen, MAX volume. If this doesn't rock your boat, Then it's time to sell the stash! http://player.vimeo.com/video/93587997
  10. Ok... For the three of you who didn't attend, I thought I'd share a few images from my roasty afternoon. 11. Hi gang, I got to attend this years Flying Legends show on the Saturday as part of a birthday celebration. As most will already know, the weather was hot and sunny. Many will be aware that the light at Duxford can be a bit of a challenge at times, hence the heavy post-processing on a number of these snaps. I hope it does n't affect your enjoyment.
  12. There seems to be a real Sabre vibe in the photography section today so I thought I'd add a couple of shots I took at Duxford last month: F-86A Sabre by tony_inkster, on Flickr F-86A Sabre by tony_inkster, on Flickr F-86A Sabre by tony_inkster, on Flickr F-86A Sabre by tony_inkster, on Flickr F-86A Sabre by tony_inkster, on Flickr
