NORTH AFRICA 1941
“ALLO ALLO HERE RADIO TRIPOLI”
This 1/35 scale diorama was an coöperation between Luc De Dapper, experienced tank/vehicle modeler, and Marc DeGraeve, experienced figurine designer with master paint skills. Both are members of the Model Club Eeklo, Belgium.
Luc purchased the North African House, Marc had a look at it and from there the planning took shape, resulting from the list below.
MATERIALS:
Radio unit: IBG Scale 1/35
Einheitsdiesel (coöperation built between MAN-KRUPP-HENSCHEL)
Interior (lighted) scratch.
Command Vehicle: Italerie Scale 1/35
Horch Kfz 15
House: North African House Mini-art scale 1/35
Figurines: On the balcony
Ref: 35016 DAK officer from Alpine / Ref: German DAK crew Alpine
Figurines near Truck:
Figurines from different manufactures being repositioned to achieve the correct stand
Figurines on the rooftop: Bronco
Figurines near oil drums: Verlinden
Interior: From Marc’s long kept supplies
As you can see, the house is fully detailed and the rooms are completely decorated in North African style and a lot of supplies from the occupying German comms unit.
The result, when two different disciplined modelers are coming together, you can judge for yourself. Enjoy.
