A recently finished project, that took far longer to complete than it should have, due to a serious attack of brain fade when I was making the master.A total rebuild was needed to correct a silly mistake. I am pretty happy with the way they turned out, they look the part to me at least. Some photos showing a very, very truncated development....... 01 Bridge by plastichacker, on Flickr 02 Hull by plastichacker, on Flickr 03 Hull by plastichacker, on Flickr And the almost finished cock up 04 early version by plastichacker, on Flickr 05 early version by plastichacker, on Flickr 06 early version by plastichacker, on Flickr And the corrected model, cast and test fitted for etch 07 Bare by plastichacker, on Flickr 08 bare by plastichacker, on Flickr 09 Bare by plastichacker, on Flickr And a "tall" mast Ca version in primer 10 tall mast primer by plastichacker, on Flickr 11 tall mast primer by plastichacker, on Flickr 12 tall mast primer by plastichacker, on Flickr HMS Zest was a destroyer of the 10th War Emergency Programme, and was completed with a "short" lattice mast. This class were the first to introduce the 4.5" Mk V mounting, and the Royal Navy has kept this calibre to this day, though of course much modified. They were also the first class to introduce the "K" director,an attempt to combine the Ha/La director with a Rangefinder. It was an interim design, and only used in the Z and Ca classes-the very similar Ch/Co/Cr used the Mk6 director as fitted to 1942 Battles. 13 Zest by plastichacker, on Flickr 14 Zest by plastichacker, on Flickr And a non descript tatty Ca class with tall lattice 15 Ca by plastichacker, on Flickr 16 Ca by plastichacker, on Flickr And the 2 together 17 Pair by plastichacker, on Flickr Thanks for looking mtd
