I'm not referring to those Neo versions, which for some reason are the only ones available in Europe. There's an article on a Japanese modelling blog: https://nippper.com/2023/08/83517/ The bottle looks different, and the writer says that the 'softening power has been increased. I have not used Mr Marks Softer before, as the proper version is not available here, but now I ordered a jar from Taiwan. I found a translation on reddit of a Mr Hobby tweet (or what the 🤬 they are called nowadays): Mr Mark Softener and Mr Mark Setter, which were renewed in April, have been summarised in terms of product features and precautions due to the change to environmentally friendly solvents. The main solvent has been changed to an environmentally friendly solvent in view of the current global situation, and each has been newly designed. Improvements to Mr Mark Softener: The adhesion of decals has been improved due to a significant increase in the softening power. It is now easier to stick firmly even to semi-gloss and matte painted surfaces and is less likely to cause 'silvering'. The flow of the softener has been improved, making it easier to spread over surfaces. Improvements to Mr Mark Setter: The glue agent has been changed from an emulsion resin system to an acrylic resin system. (Transparency of liquid increased). The adhesive strength has been greatly improved, making it more difficult for adhered decals to peel off. Masking after coating with gloss clear reduces the phenomenon of the clear film being taken away with the decal when it is peeled off. The softening performance has also been improved, although not as much as with Mark Softener, so the adhesion is improved. If you want to soften the decals even more, please use in combination with Mark Softener! Common precautions. Solubility has been increased only for water-based hobby colours. (Especially for Mark Setter). If the drying time of water-based hobby colours is short, they dissolve particularly easily. Even if the paint has been left to dry completely after several days, the surface is more likely to be eroded if the amount of paint applied is too large or if the paint is left in place for a long time after application. If the product is to be applied in larger quantities over a larger area, the dissolution can be reduced by diluting the product with water to reduce the influence of the solvent to a milder level before use. (This will reduce the decal's dissolving and softening performance and adhesive strength.)

Evening chaps hope you are all well! Im having some issues with with decalling up my airfix spitfire mk1a.. I cant get the little devils to suck into the panel lines/trenches! I am using Hannants xtradecal battle of britian sheets and revell decal soft as my setting fluid, the kit has been brush painted in humbrol enamels, then coated with lakeland quickshine (note i had the same issue using astonish!) Im thinking that the revell decal softener isn't compatible with xtradecals? ive used revells decal soft on cartograf and airfix decals and i had no issues?! Seen as i now have a kit with silvered decals that are layed down quite poorly whats my best option please chaps? Buy some micro sol? could i slice the decals with a fresh stanley blade then apply clear? These are the.. Ahem, offenders! Apologies for the slipper and dog eaten carpet in shot! and apologies for my rambling on! Thanks and all the best!
