My entry. Bought it second hand last year, the box never made it. Sprues, to show its not started 😛: Probably going to build the No.39 Squadron version (Hemp over Light Aircraft Grey). Possibly the all over H.S.S No.58 Squadron, but it's a distant possibility. Got a resin seat on the way, should have it before the month is out. Hopefully. Roll on the 17th!

Although I had already asked about this Canberra in another thread, I was advised there to make the search for images stand out in the title as well. So here is my question for all pictures of this particular aircraft. Preferably in 1969 condition. Most preferably from 08/08/1969 after landing at RAF Luqa when the aircraft was badly beaten up in a thunderstorm. Or also gladly from other Canberras after a thunderstorm.... I am also looking for photos or plans of the internal structure of the tail fin. Thank you Canberra experts!

In Phil Keeble's excellent Book "Patrolling the Cold War Skies: Reheat Sunset" he describes a flight in a thunderstorm to Malta. He describes the aircraft with the code 175, but without the two letters in front of it. Does anyone know which Canberra that was exactly? And what it looked like at the time? Or even better: Does anyone have any photos of the plane from that time? Best of all, someone even has photos of the plane after the flight, it must have looked terrible. Where could I find pictures? Ask anyone except Mr. Keeble himself... If I can find Canberra experts anywhere, it's here, right? Thank you very much for your help!

Another one that has been languishing in the pile for a while, and so I thought that this iconic long serving type would be a good candidate for the group build. It is the 1/72 Airfix boxing and I have a couple of sets of 1/72 Model Alliance decals, one for the Canberra PR.9 retirement scheme, the other Model Alliance set being generic stencil data for the Canberra. Here are photos of the box, its contents and the decal sets. by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr by John L, on Flickr

I'm intending to backdate an Xtrakit 1/72 Canberra PR.9 to a 39 Squadron example from the early 1980s in Dark Sea Grey/Dark Green/Light Aircraft Grey camouflage. It'll probably be XH175 using markings from the Model Alliance sheet and maintenance markings from Modeldecal sheet 85. So far, armed with the Aeroguide 34 and a helpful article in the Sep 2006 Air International I think I need to remove all signs of: - the port for the Zeiss RMK-A camera aft of the bomb bay - the IRLS doors on the bomb-bay doors - the underwing hardpoints for the BOZ and TADS pods - the flare dispenser squares outboard of the engine nacelles. What have I missed? Also, what colour would the undercarriage bays have been? Latterly they were apparently white but I'm wondering if that is a late feature to help detection of stress cracks. PS Pretty underwhelmed with the Model Alliance Canberra sheets: 2 sheets covering 13 subjects but not enough stencils to complete even one of them.
