Hello everyone... Id like to present my Airfix 1/72 Bristol Bulldog. It was built in the Nordic group build and wears Finnish markings. It represents on of two IIa Bulldogs donated by Sweden to Finland for defense in the 1939-40 winter war. They were used as trainers in the Finnish Air force. Here is a link to the build. https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235066999-bulldog/ I did attempt to rig this but there was a minor disaster during the attempt. I think I was lucky just to rescue the build itself. Questions, comments, and or thoughts ? Dennis
Hello everyone. I've been sorting out old kits to record them for my website before they fall apart. I unearthed these two, built about ten years ago for a series of Silver Wing models I completed. They're in pretty good shape, the TM two seater a simple conversion by tilting back the wings, cutting and detailing a second cockpit, adding new panels from thin sheets of plasticard and a new tail. I can't remember what paints I used, probably a combination of Halfords BMW Silver spray and Alclad. The decals for the TM came from the kit and spares box, whilst the 29 Sqn markings for the single seater were off a very nice RAFDec sheet. Rigged with fishing line darkened with a sharpie. Probably one of my favourite Airfix kits of all time, it still makes into a great model. Haris
Hi, I would like to show next old English bird from Silver Wings Era (like Shark, Wallace and Wapiti) but involved in a war - the Bristol Bulldog from Airfix. This is also an old kit (coming from beginning of 1970s, as I remember - am I wrong?). I made this model about 10 years ago - and in this time my eyes were sharp without any glasses...- what makes difference at least for me. This is in Spanish Republican Markings - now I realized that perhaps I should put this in "between wars forum". However, I hope that WWII forum is still a proper forum for airplanes from Spanish Civil War, since it was a prelludium to WWII. So, please enjoy the photos... Any comments welcomed!
