  1. Hello! Here are a pair of Attack 1:144 Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17Fs ("Fresco C") which I built back in 2014 using a Berna Decals sheet (MiG-17 African Air Forces Pt.1) to represent a couple of rarely seen African countries. I built both kits mostly OOB, without adding any cockpit. I only thinned the guns, added the wing probes from metal wire and added the sway braces for the underwing drop tanks. I also added the radio mast. Both were fully painted and varnished by brush. First up: "Red 43" of the Guinea-Bissau Air Force seen at Bissau IAP in 1991. The second one: BF8401, Burkina Faso Army Aviation, in 1991. As always, thanks for looking and all comments are welcome. Miguel
  2. Before de Gaulle withdrew France from NATO's integrated military command structure in June 1966, France had committed assets to bases in Germany such as Lahr, just over the French-German border and in the early 1960's this included F-100's of EC.2/3 "Champagne". I'm hoping to replicate one of these aircraft using a combination of the ESCI 1/72nd F-100D from many moons ago and finally extracted from the stash, Berna decals will provide the markings and in a bit of prior planning, I've got the Aires resin cockpit, wheels and jet-pipe (the kit original being very shallow and superficial). Here's the goodies with a couple of book references, fortunately the F-100 is well served with on-line references too. The observant among you will see there are two kits in the box, one of them has had one set of wings hacked about to drop the slats as commonly seen on F-100's when parked up, really I should also drop the flaps to match. I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to persist with this approach, time will tell.
  3. Hi all, Here's my just finished 1/72 Academy F-84G Thunderjet. I did it as a machine from Escadron de Reconnaissance Tactique 2/33 "Savoie", based at Cognac in the mid 50's. I added a recce pod on the left wing from Model Art. This was a converted Fletcher fuel tank as used on the T-33, to give the straight wing F-84's a basic recce capability. It was first used by the French, and found its way to other NATO Thunderjet users. Decals came from a Berna sheet. Painted with Vallejo Metal Color, Revell, ModelMaster and Tamiya paints. Thanks for looking, and I hope you like it. Pete
