G'day All This was a thoroughly enjoyable build, the fit for the most part being excellent, although the fuselage centreline seam was quite stubborn to get rid of, followed by all the replacement of the lost detail, which would have needed doing regardless, the rivets tending too fade out towards the centreline. The only weaknesses of the model were the silly engineering that has you install the landing gear early on, and the exaggerated fabric effect on the ailerons, which I corrected by spraying several coats of primer, before sanding. Markings aside from the nose art were sprayed on through masks . The nose art came from ASK RAAF Mitchell's Part 2. For my money, the HKM Mitchell renders the old Monogram kit obsolete. I cant wait for them to released the solid nose versions in 48 scale. Eduard wheels and karaya metal gun barrels were used on the build. It represents a machine of 2 SQN Royal Australian Air Force 1944 Regards Bruce

G'Day All Latest off the bench and Number 2 for the year is the old Accurate Miniatures 1/48 B-25C/D finished as an Mitchell II belonging to 320 SQN 2T.A.F. This kit was an original AM boxing, and was not the easiest build. A lot of filling and rescribing was needed along the fuselage top seam and around the carburettor intakes I also managed to fudge the canopy at the final hurdle requiring a replacement to be faired in at the last minute (not too successfully!) The model is not quite accurate in regard to all details, it should have a fixed .50 in the nose as well as the hand held gun, the bombsight should be a sperry, not the norden and I managed to add the wrong serial, but Im not fixing it now. Paints are by Gunze and MRP with multiple layers of different hued O.D until I got the desired look. The stripes were added using Mission Model Paints thinned with water, then scrubbed off the top surfaces. Decals are by Eagle-Cals and machine gun barrels by master models. The staining and oil leaks were attained using thinned oil paint A longer description on the build is at my blog listed in my signature. Definitely need a palette cleanser build next! Thanks for looking Bruce

Once again, late to the party but trust you have room to squeeze in one more guest. I had to clear my workspace which was left untouched since the Lancaster group build earlier this year. Searching the garage for a project that would fit this STGB, I found a B-25J Mitchell still in the shrinkwrap. I have ordered some Kits-World decals from Sprue Brothers that will help me depict 43-27751/50 'Meet Mrs Runyon - Margaret Mary Rustin' (321st BG/447thBS) Here we go.... Still in the shrinkwrap (should meet the "less than 25%" requirement) Oooooh, that fresh styrene smell And the copyright molded in: Revell 1977 China Not sure what level of crazy I want to go to... but I've had fun with each group build so far! Kits-World decals (KW148033) on the way. Chose the MMR option just for the OD. Not ready for an NMF project yet Reference via the Kits-World site

Dear fellow Britmodellers, here's my latest, the new Airfix B-25 C/D built in RAF colors with the addition Model Alliance Decals “2nd Tactical Air Force 1944-1945” (MA72204). I used Eduard pre-cut masks (CX507) and painted with Gunze/Mr.Hobby acrylics (H52 Olive Drab/H53 Grey). D-Day stripes are airbrushed. I added a small 'A' letter (individual aircraft code) to the tail fin, according to original photos. Period photographs also show different size of roundels on the upper wing, not mentioned on the Model Alliance sheet. I replaced the left RAF roundel for a slightly bigger size, covering the overpainted US insignia. All photographs by Wolfgang Rabel. Best greetings from Vienna, thanks for your interest.
