While I wait for something to arrive in the post for my Mig-25 I might as well begin another of my 19 Squadron Personal Build Project. For those who don't know, this project began back when we had the Bae Hawk static build and I built the commemorative aircraft. So I thought, "why not more 19 Squadron?" So it started. The Forum is littered with these builds, so search for them if you want. I have no personal connection to 19 Squadron whatsoever. I'm just having fun. This is the Gloster Gauntlet from RAF Duxford, June 1935. The decals are from the 19 Sq. set from Xtradecal. Here's the boxtop... The sprue... And the very nice profile. There we go. I'll dig in today, I hope, or tomorrow. --John

Here's something from the First Generation of the jet age, the Supermarine Attacker, F.1. It was also the first jet supplied to the FAA in the early 1950s. As the wiki page says, like many 1st Gen aircraft it didn't last long. The 2nd generation was quick in taking its place. Still, there it was. I have had this kit for a few years and it looks like it's time to move it off the shelf and onto the bench. Bogart Box art...older AZ Model art and it's an older, short-run kit. The sprue looks basic. As I recall this grey plastic can be a bit soft when it comes to details. I'll see how it all fits. I'm given two canopies and an under-fuselage fuel tank for an F.2 conversion if I want, but I am sticking with the F.1. Also included is a resin seat. Decals look good and in register... And the profile is typically shark-like with its dark grey/sky configuration. I'll get into this presently. --John

Ok. This is my little scheme. I am off-island from tomorrow morning until late Tuesday night (24th). That means I have tonight, and four more days to build this one final 109 for this GB. No fancy camo, nothing weird. Straight ahead, green and grey Romanian bird from 1942. I'll build Yellow 64 because it has the cool Romanian markings and graffiti. It's and AZ model, so the sprue and instructions are almost everywhere you look. All the same. 'Nella'... I think I can do this... --John

I think this might be the first V-tail for the GB. IT is AZ Model's Me 109G-0. Not sure how many times it was flown, but Erich Harmann used in 1943 and it looks very cool. Here's some box art... Nice profile... Sprue and decals in a bag... Decal closeup... I'll jump in later when it cools down some. If it cools down some. --John

Here's my next offering to this build... I'll be building Marcel Milan's Free French aircraft from the Central African Republic in 1941... I do love those Crosses of Lorraine... --John
