  4. Some 'happy snaps' of aircraft participating in the Edwards AFB Open House in October 1983. This installment show some of the home field aircraft. Part 2 will cover the visitors. F-15C No. 1, 78-0468, F-15 Combined Test Force, 6510th Test Wing, Air Force Flight Test Center. She was used as a test bed for potential F-15E Strike Eagle technologies at this time. YA-7D 67-14582, 6512th Test Squadron, 6510th Test Wing, Air Force Flight Test Center. She was used for test support by the 6512th, but also used as a stability and control, spins, and systems curriculum aircraft by the USAF Test Pilot School. The black quadrangles on top of the wings are aids for determining aircraft attitude during spins by optical trackers. F-15A 76-0086, F-15 Combined Test Force, 6510th Test Wing, Air Force Flight Test Center. She was a dedicated Anti-Satellite test bed. A-7D 69-6217, 6512th Test Squadron, 6510th Test Wing, Air Force Flight Test Center. A test support aircraft (safety chase, radar target). 5. I had promised myself to wind down my GB addictions….but I just can’t seem to help myself! Ok I’ve had this idea bubbling away for some time now and I finally think it’s time to let it loose…it’s ok I washed my hands before typing this! The Show-off’s GB! It’s very simple and open to almost anything you want to build!! Just 1 wee stipulation…..it must have appeared in or at an Air Show, Car/Motorbike Show, Boat show, or something along those lines. You must provide evidence that it participated in this particular event/s. So you do need to provide some sort of evidence, a photo of it at that event would suffice. Ok display teams would get an automatic ok, as would Tiger Meet aircraft (now they are show-offs!!). I know there are some others as well, but they escape me for the moment, so let me know. This is a GB pretty much open to whatever you like to build. If you have a similar idea for something that could fit in with this GB idea let me know and we can see if we can combine it in. EDIT: additions - End of Service, Anniversary schemes 1, trickyrich - Host 2, John D.C. Masters 3, Corsairfoxfouruncle 4, Robert Stuart 5, alt-92 6, theplasticsurgeon 7, Wez 8, zebra 9. Romeo Alpha Yankee 10, Hockeyboy76 11, CliffB 12, nimrod54 EDIT: ok this thread will be closed as we'll be combining it with the Racer GB, with the hope this will give us the interest and numbers to get these GB ideas into next years calendar. To those already signed up, thank you for your support.
  6. Noticed this in the on line Daily Mail, no indication though as to which aeroplane it was. Fortunately it sounds like the landing was good and no one hurt.
  7. As well as modelling, I also enjoy doing a bit of photography. This link will take you to some shots that I took at the recent TAVAS Great War Flying Display at Caboolture airfield here in Queensland. Unfortunately, my DSLR is out of action at the moment, so I was using my wife's bridge camera hence why there are no in-flight pictures. Ross
  8. In just 2 weeks time, Wonderland Models will be attending the 2016 Scottish International Airshow in Ayr on the 2nd & 3rd of September. Get your tickets for the show at the TSIA Website Here. We hope to see you all there and that you enjoy the sights and sounds, please look out for our distinctive Yellow & Blue Wonderland Marquee in the Trader Village. Happy Flying!
  9. Despite today's show being cancelled because of the weather, yesterday went ahead as planned, defying the incoming storm. Overall it was pretty cold but sunny and clear. I have even returned with a sun-burnt forehead! FredT Some highlights: The first arrivals land on the rather soggy and muddy beach: Causing a break in the excellent radio controlled model flying display of which the highlight for me was this superb Heinkel. and the B-17 More arrivals: then back up with the models: The bizzies look in The reds put on a full show: Only one Black Cat this time: But a lovely spitfire: The Reds return by helo after landing at Blackpool for some crowd adulation (and home in time for tea and medals) The RV8ors put on a really good show Then a JP/Strikemaster roared in: The Blades easily matched the RV8tors Yes, he really is flying backwards: and sideways: Sheesh ! Desert Tucano Bulldog: Huey. You could hear him approaching from miles away Lovely Sabre More Solos Is that tide coming in? Then one of Lancashire's finest (You can see Warton from the beach) And finally, of course, given that it is BoB weekend, the BoB Flight was the highlight - what a truly fantastic sound - 6 snarling Merlins in concert:
