  1. Should I use it and if so how? If I shouldn't use it what should I use instead? Or can I just use warm water? Lots of conflicting advice and opinions out there on YouTube and other modelling sites. Bagman
  2. So after the me262 I've opened this (bought on here - can't remember who from but a bargain ): came with airwaves set and cannon barrel set: So internal detail removed: but left the mounting points for the seat as it seems the whole detail set hangs off it: Anyways, this isn't about showing off my modelling skills ( hahahhaaaa) but rather for advice. I've read that the pe parts should be either soldered (not for me - i'd burn my fingers before I'd plugged a soldering iron in) or attached using superglue (ca?). At this point my question is how do I "hold" the pe part before attaching? Read various posts about using wax pencils, uummm ear wax and various other things. Any advice? TIA! Ian
  3. I've had a slow WIP at: But have faltered at the last hurdle - the decals are falling to pieces. I realize that someone having a surplus sheet of decals for a 2 seater Viggen they'd be willing to sell on is a bit unlikely so I'd appreciate if anyone has any ideas on how to rescue old decals? Is there something I could overcoat the remaing ones with which would keep them intact? I'd only gotten as far as messing up the two roundels so if I could rescue the rest they'd hopefully be easier to source replacements
  4. Hello all My father in law worked on Lightnings with 5 Squadron at RAF Binbrook in the early 70s, and I'm hoping to make him a replica of a machine he may have worked on from that era as a surprise and a reminder of his time there. I've got the Airfix kit, but am struggling to find appropriate decals. I saw CT Modeller's build in 1/72 of a Lightning in the scheme I'm looking to do (http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234958536-5-squadron-lightning-f6/) but the research I've done so far into decal options at 1/48 doesn't provide any options for a 5 Squadron lightning from that era, like this one below. Does anyone know of any decals that might be available for such a scheme? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks very much Adam
  5. I've put 5 Revell star trek kits on the for sale forum,as you guys are S/F knowledgable do you think they are still sellable at the prices ? Or is it that s/f isn't popular with most modellers? I'd like to know your views Terry
  6. Hi all Sat at work waiting for stuff to happen and my mind has gone to the forth coming SMW 2012, as ya do. Anyway I need a bit of advice as to who makes what regarding the 48th Harrier GR7/9 bits and bobs, I need a MDC decals for the Revell/Has kit and a set of CVR's. Now who makes the MDC and can I still get it from Hannants? And what Beltch Bits bomb set do I need??? Cheers the Woo
