  1. another one finished! The Revell 1/144 A380 finished in Qantas colors with excellent decals from Hawkeye. A tough one to finish, white, grey and red paint done with rattle cans, due to the large surface not so easy to get it smooth. Used the Revell decals for some details. However the silver window outlines did for some reason not fit the kit so I left them off. Modified the main gear doors and had to shorten the outboard landing gear to have all wheels to touch the ground. I only noticed that the left wing was slightly wrapped after completing the kit... Still have to add the decals for the landing lights. Now I have to find a place to put it, it is huge!! - Peter
  2. Titan Model Kits is to release a 1/72nd Airbus A380 vacuform kit with 3D parts ! Source: https://www.facebook.com/TitanModelKits/posts/pfbid034AiNs8Mjt2o8mcRb3HLN7vXmfUMHDyK2aXZnpW6osRzsVsYpotFtEqAvPPepadJGl V.P.
  3. So it is now few weeks since ANA got it's first A380 as well as it was known for some time that it was coming. With all this in mind was there anything that would indicate when Hasegawa is going to release A380 in 200 scale?
  4. Hello everyone, Yet again, I have for you is my Revell Emirates A380. If you would like to see pictures, visit my Instagram page: airplanemodelshd . For now, I have uploaded the build video below. Included in the model are LED's, though the Anti-Collision lights are not accurate, I still am pleased with the final results! Thanks for viewing this post!
  5. Decided to pop over to Heathrow for an hour to see what I could get. All shot handheld using a 6D + 500mm f/4 IS... wish I'd gone over for longer.... Hope you like!
  6. Hi all, After building a Thomson 787 I decided to take the plunge and build an A380. It's still very much work in progress, you will notice parts missing but as my second build I'm quite pleased with how it's coming along. I have made the model without landing gear as I intend to build a stand for it, I just think it looks cleaner. Most the paint I used was Humbrol hobby Spray, apart from the wings which are Halfords Ford Polar Grey (the poor pic quality doesn't do the Halfords spray justice) BA Blue was Humbrol hobby Spray Midnight Blue Please excuse the picture quality, I will get round to Hi res when it's finished PROBLEM I ripped my Flight Deck Decals, does that mean I have to spend £12 on a brand new set? The one that came with the model in the Airbus House Colours wasn't good enough. Thanks
  7. At the risk of coming over all Rivet-Counterish, I have in mind a BA A380 (and if you're 'not bothered about accuracy', best tune out now :-)). I know some of the short-comings of the kit (I've been building one since 2007..... Yep, really should finish that before I start another one!), just wondering if the BM collective mind is aware of any others..? What I can think of so far: - Cockpit window shape - Landing lights - Main Gear Doors (wing and body) - Intake shape on the fwd belly fairing - Flaptrack Fairings mostly too long and asymmetry due to RAT not present - Delete wheel brake on rearmost axle of body gear - Some raised details on lower wing surface not present Has anyone spotted anything else of note? I quite fancy extended flaps and slats, maybe spoilers. I might even go so far as modifying gear into an unloaded state.... Any thoughts? Cheers, Andrew PS. am I right in thinking BA is now whiter than white?
  8. The story (a bit naive ) The list of A380 orders contains one entry that does not follow the pattern - it is an order for VIP transport built to private specification. As it was recently revealed, the order came from one of oil rich monarchies where serious civil unrest has been reported recently. The monarch has eventually fled the country leaving Airbus with almost complete hull. As it was mentioned before, the hull was built to private specification similar to 747-200M combi - aft part of the body converted to cargo compartment with large door to accommodate monarch's Rolls-Royce and guard SUVs. With abrupt cancellation of the order Airbus had to find a new buyer. Surprisingly the only bid came from the international talent management company that suggested to use it as a "touring bus" for musicians of highest calibre. Indeed, the layout of the plane provided luxury accommodation for artists and road crew as well as spacious cargo bay for stage equipment. The modified specification even included the rehearsal room. Using a single plane would simplify logistics and save money for the company. With the new contract secured Airbus completed the plane in just 8 months and delivered A380-800C ( C for Combi ) in late 2014. It first was used in famous Dream Theater 2015 "Galactic Tour". I started this kit very long ago but quickly lost interest. I tried to complete it in A380 STGB http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234917647-pins-what-if/ eventually it occupied so much space in my workshop so I made myself to complete it. At first I wanted to make "Big Four", then Queensryche (mostly because of Triryche logo) but it is DT after all.
  9. Airbus A380, pics thanks to Steve
