Up next, a USSR Mig-19S, 1/72nd scale (of course) from MisterCraft. As others have concluded on another post, this is a re-moulded, re-boxed kit from a previous source. At first glance, the moulding looks alright, with decent panel lines and no raised details. That's a relief--no pun intended! 😉 Not much interns of interior detail. I'll try to fix that. Also, the air brakes are moulded into the fuselage. I may try to scratch those as being open. It adds a bit of dynamism. I will avoid the terrible sheet (well out of register) of decals that depict the Czech, Bulgarian, Hungarian and GDR planes in favour of the sheet with the well printed red stars that will decorate Red 35 from 1962. Funnily, there are no decal diagrams supplied for either the Hungarian or Polish aircraft. Weird, but not surprising. This kit actually has the aroma of that Hawker Hunter I built for the Hawker-Siddeley GB last spring... If anyone has any additional info on Red 35, it would be appreciated. I can't find any images online. I have some nice aftermarket goodies, namely guns and pitot from Master and some wheels from Armoury. That will help this kit a great deal. The wheels, especially, need some work as those supplied seem rather cartoonish when compared to the resin Armoury pieces. Here are some images after opening the box... So...I'll clean up some flash this afternoon and prime it this evening. --John
