This is an interesting paint scheme color, called Wisteria, as translated from Japanese. A kind of lilac camouflage. Many folks disagree that this paint scheme ever existed, or that the weather in the tough Arctic conditions wore the IJN grey or green to a reddish color. But, from a tactical sense, this purplish color actually makes good sense. During the long arctic days of the campaign, with the sun low on the horizon, a purple haze (sorry Jimi Hendrix) would be evident, and hence make these aircraft harder to see. The Japanese were very good at camouflage; kind of a precursor to our modern low visibility grey. Hope you like this older build.
