Hello Dears,
Finally, after all the setback with the painting, the decals the varnish and the inclusion of resin parts in the kit !!
I can call her finished ! However, I'll try to have some better pics tomorrow in daylight, if not in the sun...
So let's go back in August 1950 aboard HMS Triumph near the coast of Korea !
I can recommend the article of Mr tony O'Toole in MAM of March 2005, it has been very inspirational for me, Many Thanks Tony !
However, the Seafire was considered as a second line aircraft, they were the first (and only) british forces in this part of the world
And they did great, the Seafire have been pushed far over their limits in order to fulfill the assigned missions.
The seafire 47 were not alone, the Triumph also carried WWII vétérans as the Fairey Fireflies Mk I...
Hope that her mate will join her soon since I've started a Mk I...
VP480 was flown by commissioned pilot Richard A. "Dick" Peters,
I used a CMK interior
a Quickboost cowling and exhaust to correct the kit
a Barracudacast propeller to correct the Airfix ones
a Falcon canopy since I read that the one of the kit has to be corrected too
and a Freightdog decal sheet
Not to mention a respectable amount of putty and PPP
a load of very explicits expressions...
but all in all it has been a good kit, an old Airfix kit !
Unnecessary to say that I'm not completely satisfied about my painting, but it has been an epic journey
The chemical reaction with the canned Tamiya varnish has ruined the kit and I managed to save her...
This struggle took a toll on the painting job.
Not really visible but I Added a camera an some support in the camera bay !
